As soon as the squirrel hits the floor, Bella lunges forward, teeth bared and claws extended. The small creature screeches in terror as she pounces on top of it, scrambling to pin it down. But just when she thinks she's gotten ahold of it, the squirrel manages to slip free and race away again.
She chases after it once more, her body moving fluidly as if possessed by some otherworldly force. Jaden watches with interest, his expression unreadable.
i walk out of the room with the pup
The squirrel darts behind a bookshelf, and Bella curses under her breath as she slows down to pursue it. Her heart is pounding in her chest, and sweat beads her fur as she crawls on all fours after the elusive prey. She hears movement from somewhere nearby, but when she looks up, there's no sign of Jaden or the pup.
With a growl of frustration, Bella abandons the chase and begins to search the room instead.
