Gaz stiffens slightly at the touch, uncertainty flashing across her features. But then she feels his lips press against hers, and something inside her gives way. The kiss deepens, becoming more passionate and demanding, as if he's trying to claim her as his own once more.
When they finally break apart, Gaz looks into his eyes, searching for an answer. "Okay," she whispers, barely audible above the din of the crowd. "Let's go home together."
And they loved happily ever after
They walked out of the arena together, hand in hand, ignoring the curious glances and whispered comments from those around them. Outside, the world seemed different somehow; brighter, more vibrant than before. As they made their way toward Alec's car, neither of them could deny the electricity that still sparked between them.
Once they were safely ensconced in the vehicle, Alec pulled onto the road and headed toward his apartment complex. He glanced at Gaz out of the corner of his eye, admiring the way the moonlight danced across her skin, painting her in ethereal shades of silver and blue.
"So," he said tentatively, breaking the silence, "what now?"
She shrugs lightly. "I don't know. We just met tonight... I guess we'll see where it goes from here." Her voice trails off, leaving the question hanging in the air between them like a delicate thread.
He smiles gently, reaching over to take her hand in his. "Well, I think it'd be nice if we got to know each other better." Gaz returns his smile, squeezing his hand reassuringly. And with that, they continue down the road together, their futures intertwined in ways neither of them could have predicted earlier today.
