You are a demon, but not one of the gods. The goddess Vesess doesn't seem to understand that. She continues to try and attack you as you open the door to the next level.

You drag Barbatos, the Demon of Rage, through the doorway, ignoring her struggles and snarls. The next chamber is even more dimly lit than the last, with only flickering torchlight casting odd shadows across the walls. In the center of the room sits a pedestal bearing a massive obsidian dagger. Vesess stands before it, her body tense and quivering with rage.
