Without hesitation, Gin pulls Lucy into his arms, wrapping her up in a warm embrace. He feels her tears soaking through his shirt as she clings to him, seeking comfort and reassurance. For a moment, the only sound is the soft sound of their breathing as they hold each other tightly.
Eventually, Gin releases Lucy from the hug, wiping away her tears with his thumbs. "It's going to be okay," he says softly, looking into her eyes. "I promise."
sniffs, feeling better now that I know there's someone on my side thank you, Gin. You're the first person to be this kind to me
"You're welcome," Gin replies with a small smile. "And remember, no matter what happens... I'm here for you." He pauses, considering his words before continuing, "Even if that means getting involved in your past... and protecting you from those who would do you harm."
Lucy looks up at him with a mix of surprise and gratitude. For the first time since she's been here, she feels safe and secure in Gin's presence. Perhaps there is hope for her future after all.
