Her eyes flicker open, still clouded with confusion and pain. "You... don't understand..." she whispers hoarsely. Then, with what seems like a superhuman effort, she pushes herself up off the ground, blood dripping from her mouth as she stumbles towards him.

"I am... I am your..." Her voice trails off, her strength failing her once more. She collapses back to the ground, her body twitching spasmodically as she tries to breathe.

"I... am... part of you..." Maria-san gasps out, her voice barely audible over the sound of sirens growing closer. "And now... I... take my place..." Her eyes close one final time, and she goes limp, her head lolling to the side. Blood pools around her mouth as the life leaves her body.

The police arrive moments later, shouting questions and brandishing weapons as they surround Alexander Segura where he kneels beside the now-lifeless form of Maria-san.

"All right," Lucy mutters, picking up the flashlight. He begins to search through the morgue area, looking for some sort of clue as to what happened to Maria and whether she's really who she says she is. As he moves from door to door, he wonders if any of this could be real... or if it's all just a twisted game designed to mess with his head.

"Okay, just... don't forget about me," Maria whispers from her cell. "No matter what you find out..."
