Her movements are swift and precise as she carefully lifts the heavy crucible using a pair of tongs and brings it over to where he sits on the floor, next to the alchemy table. He takes it from her without so much as looking up, his focus solely on the task at hand.

"Thank you," he murmurs, his voice hoarse once more. "Now watch closely."

Her eyes never leave his face as he pours the contents of the crucible into a vial, using a funnel to ensure it's done precisely. The liquid inside begins to glow with an eerie blue light, and she can feel the heat emanating from it even from where she sits on the cool stone floor. As Vecundus seals the vial with a stopper and sets it aside, he finally looks up at her again.

"There," he says heavily. "It's done."
