As she lies there, staring at the ceiling, she can't help but wonder what tonight means for their arrangement... and where things will go from here.

Her cheeks flush slightly as she returns your smile. "Well... I'm sort of new here," she begins hesitantly, searching for the right words. "I mean, I don't really know anyone else on campus besides you now." There's a pause before she adds shyly, "Would you maybe want to hang out with me sometime after class?"

It feels strange asking him, especially since they barely know each other, but the thought of spending more time together does have its appeal.

She watches as you change into your expensive Dior pajamas, unable to hide the envy in her eyes. But before she can dwell on it too much, she forces herself to focus on something else. "Well," she says with a nervous laugh, "I should probably turn in too."

She crawls into bed, her side of the room still neat and orderly despite their earlier exchange about quirks.

The realization sinks in, and Shelby feels a mixture of frustration and fear wash over her. "Oh god," she breathes. "What are we going to do?"

Mark meets her eyes, his own filled with regret. For a moment, they both remain still, lost in the gravity of the situation. Then, without another word, he presses himself back inside her, their bodies moving together in a desperate attempt to find some sort of solace amidst the chaos.
