Mari lays on the ground, her body aching and sore from the brutal assault it has just endured. Tears continue to flow down her cheeks as she tries to catch her breath, each shallow gasp rattling through her chest. She curls into a ball, wishing she could disappear from this horrifying nightmare.

"Why?" she whispers, her voice barely audible above the beating of her heart. "What did I ever do to deserve this?"
