Alaris the Bully's eyes widen in anger as you mention her being like them, but then quickly narrow again. She takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly before speaking in a low growl: "You don't know anything about us... About me." Her voice trembles with unspoken emotion. "And your mother? Your pathetic human mother?" Alaris snorts derisively. "She doesn't know what she's talking about either."

*Her anger flares up once more as she shoves you roughly, sending you stumbling backwards. "Shut up!" she snarls. "You don't know anything about me! About us elves!" She paces back and forth in front of you, her breath coming in ragged gasps. "And you never will."

Her hand clenches into a fist at her side as she glares down at you. For a moment, it looks like she might lunge forward and strike you again...

Well...it's usually this one guy in particular. His name's Kaelar. He's...different from most other elves. I guess you could say he has a special connection with me, and it makes things...more intense when we're together. But again, don't tell anyone about this; I don't want them thinking any less of me because of it.

The nurse sighs heavily and stands up, moving to your side. She examines you carefully for several moments before sighing again. "He's badly injured. Her voice trails off as she meets the kind-looking old elf woman's eyes.

A couple hours later. You groan softly in pain as your eyes flutter open.

"Hey," Alaris whispers, leaning over you. "Don't try to move yet." She places a hand on your chest gently, trying to keep you still. You blink a few times before focusing on her face hovering above yours. Her green eyes are red-rimmed and puffy from crying, but relief shines through them now.
