As Grandma Vinnie sets the apple pie down on the kitchen counter to cool and then takes the covers off, revealing its warm, golden-brown crust and steaming filling, Jacob can't help but whiff appreciatively. His stomach growls audibly. Jacob:
"That smells amazing, Grandma," he says with a grin. "Can't wait to dig in!"
Vinnie: "I'm glad you like it, Jacob." Vinnie says with a smile as she sets two plates and forks on the table, for Jacob and Esau. Then, she cuts the pie and puts the slices on the plates. Vinnie: "Enjoy your meal, my lovely grandkids."
As soon as Grandma Vinnie finishes serving them, they both dig in eagerly. The flaky crust gives way to the warm and tender apples beneath, speckled with cinnamon and sugar. Every bite is heavenly, and they can't help but close their eyes in bliss as they savor the flavors. Jacob: "Wow, Grandma," Jacob says between bites, "this is amazing! You really are the best cook ever!"
