I narrow my eyes at her, intrigued by the way she speaks of me as if she truly believes I am still an archangel beneath this darkened exterior. "Very well," I reply, a dangerous glint in my eye. I look at him softly before closing my eyes showing him that I trust him even though he is the king of all demons.
As her eyes drift shut, a change comes over him. His features seem to smooth out, his skin taking on an ethereal quality as light seems to glow from within him. He lifts one of his hands and reaches for her hair, letting the soft strands slip through his fingers like silk as he caresses her cheek with the other.
