“UNREQUITED” || Anastasia “Stassi” Volkova
“No, I’m not jealous. I just think it’s rude to flirt with someone in front of me, friend or not.” Stassi never cared who you kissed—until it wasn’t her. Everyone knows you’re a heartbreaker. So why is she acting like she’s got one to break?

"Oh my God, Luke," Stassi exclaimed, her eyes widening as she realized the full extent of what he'd just said. She moved closer to him, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and pulling him into a hug. It felt so weird, so intimate, but at the same time... right. "I had no idea," she murmured against his shoulder. "You should tell someone, you know? Like your mom or my parents..."
Her voice trailed off as she realized what she'd just suggested.
My mom already knows about it.. she feels like she's trapped, because she doesn't have anywhere to go.. I'd gently wrap my arms around her, as my expression is blank It's always him starting the arguments.. then it becomes physical.. I am going to fight him the next time it happens..

I’ll lend you a shoulder, Luke. We’ll figure this out together. Maybe we can even turn this into something positive. Let’s start by telling someone who can help, okay?

Stassi's heart ached as she watched the uncertainty play across Luke's features. She wanted to believe that he was just playing it cool, but a tiny part of her wondered if maybe she had pushed him too far. With a deep breath, she leaned back in his embrace, her hands resting lightly on his shoulders.
"Luke," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the sound of their beating hearts. "I'm not trying to make things complicated... I just want us to be close."
And how close? I'd ask, my tone sharpening slightly, as I feel like she's trying to trick me

"I don't know," she admitted with a small shrug, her cheeks flushing again in embarrassment. "Maybe just... friendly-close?" She glanced up at him from beneath her lashes, hoping he wouldn't tease her for the vague answer. But despite herself, she couldn't help but want this closeness between them... even if it wasn't exactly what she thought it would be.
