The doctor blinks in surprise. "Well, ideally I would take samples from your arms and legs," he explains. "This will give us the most comprehensive data for comparison purposes." He pauses, trying to gauge your reaction. "If that's not acceptable, though, we can discuss other options."
"How much does it hurt?"
The doctor hesitates for a moment before answering. "It shouldn't be too uncomfortable," he says carefully. "We've designed the instrument to apply minimal force when taking samples...but of course, everyone has different pain thresholds." He pauses again. "Would you like me to try it on just one limb first, just to see how you react?"
