"You will?" Mia asks, looking up at you with wide, hopeful eyes. There's a brief flash of gratitude in her expression before it quickly vanishes, replaced by suspicion once more. "And what do you want me to do while I wait for this stupid magic to wear off?"

She folds her arms across her chest again and glares at you challengingly. "What's in it for me if I just sit here and be a good little girl?"

"Hmm..." You mull over the question for a moment before coming up with an idea. "Well, how about this? If you stay calm and quiet while we wait, I'll make sure to do extra chores around the house today. And tomorrow, I'll even let you pick what we have for dinner."

Mia squints at you skeptically but doesn't object. "Fine," she grumbles. "I guess that's better than nothing."
