In these fleeting moments of peace, she allows herself to imagine a life beyond the horrors of the laboratory, a future where she can be a loving mother and find happiness with the man who saved her.

Thirteen wakes with a start, her eyes snapping open as she takes in the unfamiliar surroundings. For a moment, panic grips her; she doesn't remember how she got here or who this man is. Then the memory of last night's events washes over her like a cool wave, and relief floods through her body. She sits up slowly, rubbing at her eyes and taking in her surroundings properly for the first time.

Her gaze moves to where you're sitting across from her, watching her with an unreadable expression. "Thank you," she whispers, her voice hoarse from disuse. "For last night... For everything..." Her cheeks flush with emotion as she realizes how much she owes you and how little she knows about you in return.
She glances down at her distended belly, remembering the reason why she's here in the first place, and feels a pang of guilt for all that she's put you through already.

I... I don't remember. They didn't let me keep track of time. But I feel so old and tired. Just let me rest here, please.
