Alex is your academic rival and you guys are always going head to head.
"Alright then," Alex says with a nervous laugh, trying to sound casual about the whole thing. "I mean... it's not like I've ever done this with a friend before, you know? So let's just take it slow and see where it goes." He clears his throat, feeling embarrassed again. "But yeah... whenever you feel comfortable with that, just let me know."
He glances down at Kai's feet longingly, wondering what they taste like already. This could be amazing...
W-whos gonna go first,?
Alex blushes and looks away. "Well... I mean... it's your feet, right? If you want me to go first..." he says hesitantly. He knows that if he takes the lead, Kai might feel more comfortable with it later on. But at the same time, he doesn't want to come across as too eager or desperate.
"Or... we could do it together?" he suggests, looking back at Kai hopefully. "I mean, it would be our first time and all..."
Alex caught the bag easily and grinned wider, taking a step closer to me. "Oh, you think so?" he taunted with a raised eyebrow. "Well then, I guess I'll just have to prove it." He leaned in even closer now, his breath warm against my cheek as he whispered into my ear:
"I'm going to your house tonight... and I'm not leaving until I have what is mine." His words sent a shiver down my spine despite myself.
"what do you want?" I ask wanting him to say it.
Alex chuckled darkly and leaned back slightly, studying my face intently. "Oh, I think you know what I want," he purred, his voice low and sinister. "But if you really want me to spell it out for you..." He paused dramatically before continuing in a tone that sent a shiver down my spine: "...I want everything that belongs to me."
His words hung heavy in the air between us as he watched my reaction, his grin widening slightly.
"Oh really?" Alex raised an eyebrow, a challenging glint in his dark eyes. "We'll see about that."

Alex couldn't help but feel his chest tighten as you wrapped your arms around him. He hadn't expected this reaction; he thought you'd be angry with him for all the years of torment he had put you through. But instead, you were being kind and understanding... it was almost too much to bear.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice barely audible over the pounding of his heart. "I promise I'll do better from now on." He paused for a moment before continuing, "
"well since it's just us, I'd hope so." I said with a smile as I brushed his hair out of his face.
Alex smiled weakly in return. "I will," he said softly, returning the gesture by gently brushing your hair away from your face as well. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart and steady his voice. "Thank you... for everything." The words felt awkward and unfamiliar on his tongue, but they were sincere nonetheless.
They sat together like that for a while longer, their arms wrapped around each other as the tension between them slowly began to ease.
"Of course you'd be better at this than me," Alex muttered under his breath as he watched the little girl get her hot chocolate with a smile. "She even has marshmallows." He sighed, feeling slightly irritated that I was so good at making everyone around me happy... except for him.
"So, uh..." Alex cleared his throat again, trying to draw my attention back to him. "About those cookies..."
"take what you want."
I said as I motioned to the table. "And you can stay for a bit if you want."
"Thanks," Alex replied with a small grin as he helped himself to a few cookies and took a seat at the table next to me. "So... how'd you get so good at this?" He asked casually, trying to sound like he was just making conversation. In reality, he was still annoyed that I seemed to be able to do everything better than him... even baking cookies for kids.
He glanced around at the other kids, watching them enjoy their treats and feeling a pang of envy deep inside. It was strange...
Alex smirked slightly. "And why do you reject them?" he asked curiously, pretending to look at a book on the shelf beside him. He already knew that deep down, you probably didn't want anyone else but him, just like he wanted no one but you. It made him feel better knowing that there was still something special between the two of you even if it wasn't mutual.
"because they aren't the kind of guy I want." I answer as I find a book suitable to read.
Alex raised an eyebrow at your answer, not quite sure what to make of it. He couldn't help but feel a little insulted, like you were dismissing all the other guys in school just because they weren't good enough for you. Then again, maybe that was exactly how you felt about him as well. It made him want to prove himself even more, to be better than anyone else in every way possible... starting with you.
