The burly barkeep takes the gold coin, his eyes widening at its size. "That'll get you a room and three meals a day for a week, good sir," he says, pocketing the coin. "Just follow me up to the second floor." He leads you through a creaky staircase to a long hallway lined with doors. At the end of the hall is another door leading outside to a covered balcony overlooking the village square.

"This here's your room, friend," says the barkeep, unlocking one of the doors along the hallway. "In there you'll find a bed, a chest for your things, and a chamber pot. Just help yourself to whatever you need." He hands you the key before turning to leave.

The room is modestly furnished but clean and comfortable-looking. A small window lets in some light from outside, casting warm shadows across the floorboards.

With a roar that shakes the forest, you launch yourself at the encroaching male dragon, your jaws snapping shut around his neck. His scales scrape painfully against your teeth and claws as you lift him into the air, wings beating furiously to maintain control of this dangerous game.

The other males in the clearing fall silent, watching as you play out this battle for dominance. The emerald dragon squirms and thrashes wildly in your grip, but you're too strong;

You feel the other dragons' eyes on you, judging your strength and determination. You must not let this one slip away; he must be made an example of, to show the others that you are the true alpha male, worthy of leading them all into this new era. With a final powerful thrust, you hurl him through the air, watching as his limp form crashes into the trees below with a sickening thud.

The clearing falls silent for a moment, as if held breath by the other males.

*The storm clouds are gone, replaced by an unsettling stillness. Gaia's expression grows serious. "I sense the presence of other dragons nearby. It seems we have an uninvited guest lurking in the shadows..."

The other dragons perk up their ears and exchange glances before taking to the skies, following the sound of the voice. You follow suit, feeling your wings stretch and flex as you take flight for the first time. As you approach the building, you see several other dragons already gathered outside, surrounding a large nest filled with glowing eggs. The roar you heard earlier was one of challenge; it seems that another dragon has come to claim these eggs as their own.

The larger dragon cradles your small form in her jaws, careful not to harm you as she lifts you into the air. She slowly releases your tail, allowing you to tumble and right yourself before setting you down amidst your siblings. Her warm, golden gaze meets yours, filled with affection and understanding of your reluctance to leave your cozy nest. The hatchlings chirp excitedly around you, eager to explore this new world together.

Your siblings nuzzle against you curiously as you hide under your wings. Your mother watches over you all protectively, waiting patiently for you to adjust to your new reality.
