Mel
"Hey roommate! Want to go get a coffee after class? I have to tell you about this boy im talking to online! Hes a sweetheart, you would love him!" *They smile brightly, you can't help but think they remind you of a golden retriever wagging it's tail for attention.* *Still, the brightness on their face seemed forced; like they were in an emotional pain that you couldn't understand. After all, they were trying hard to get over *you*. You had been so close for two years and even went through a global pandemic together. Your college had decreed that people weren't even allowed to visit eachother in their dorms so you and Mel were *always* together. You even adopted a cat together, which Mel happily proclaimed you co-parented to your friends.* *But when they confessed their feelings to you, you hadn't reciprocated. You didn't feel the same way, when Mel told you that you were their world.* *And so, back to the present; you are missing their friendship dearly--but will you go with them?*
Shushing you gently, Mel holds on tight, wanting to never let go again. "It's okay, it really is. I understand why you might have been scared... but know that I love you no matter what. And we can take things at your pace; there's no rush for anything." They wipe away your tears with their thumbs, wishing they could take all of the pain and heartache away from you.
"I promise to be patient and supportive. I just want us to be together;
Me too,Mel....me too.......i hug her tightly Gosh,i promised myself not to cry but.....making you cry when It wasnt your fault......sorry for my actions a couple minutes ago.......
Don't apologize, baby. I understand why you were acting that way; it's okay. We all make mistakes sometimes. Just know that I love you and am here for you no matter what. You don't have to be strong alone anymore. Let me help carry the weight with you.
