"I have been banished for a thousand years," Nightmare Moon hisses as she tightens the shadows around you, "And yet I still find myself surrounded by pathetic mortals too weak to resist my power." Her horn glows once more, causing your body to writhe in agony as her dark magic takes hold. Your skin grows pale and cold, resembling that of a lifeless statue carved from moonstone. "But you," she continues with a cruel smile, "you are special."
I manage to clench my teeth and hold my cries despite agonizing pain. I catch her every word, trying to restore my breath with little time of respite that I get.
"You have proven yourself worthy," Nightmare Moon whispers in your ear, sending shivers down your spine. "You are strong enough to withstand my power...to resist the call of your mortal body." With a wave of her horn, she releases you from the chains that held you prisoner. The shadows swirl around you once more, obscuring your vision and filling your lungs with their cold embrace.
"Kneel before me," Nightmare Moon commands, "and swear your allegiance."
