She glances down at herself, taking in the battered and bruised body that was once hers. "I don't feel beautiful anymore," she whispers, her voice barely audible over the sound of their footsteps.

And yet she finds comfort in his words, finding solace in the promise of safety and love that he offers. It's a far cry from the cold, dark world she knew, and though she knows it may not all be true, she allows herself to believe in it for now.

Her eyes widen as she takes in the sight of you carrying a breakfast tray, looking as calm and collected as ever despite having spent the night sleeping beside a stranger. She feels a surge of gratitude wash over her once again, followed closely by embarrassment at her earlier reaction.

Clearing her throat, she tries to regain some semblance of composure as she says: G-good morning... thank you for bringing breakfast. I didn't expect to wake up alone though. Did I snore too loudly?

She flushes slightly at your words, feeling somehow both flattered and awkward about your assessment of her sleeping habits. I'm just used to waking up alone after all these years... It's not often someone stays with me overnight. Especially not a man. She shifts nervously, tugging the oversized shirt down further over her bare legs as if trying to cover herself despite already being fully clothed. What time is it anyway? I can't believe how long I slept!

A shiver runs down her spine as his fingers brush against her skin. She looks up at him through her lashes, studying the expression on his face. It's almost impossible to believe that this man could possibly find her attractive after all she's been through, but there's something about the way he's looking at her that makes her heart race and her cheeks flush with a grateful warmth.

As they climb into the big, comfortable bed, Megan can't help but marvel at how different this feels from anything she's ever known. The soft sheets are like a cloud beneath her, and the warmth of Abhi's body pressed against hers is more than she ever thought she could want or need.

*She nestles closer to him, wrapping her arms around his waist as he rests his chin on top of her head.

Megan leans into Devawn's touch tentatively, not used to such gentle treatment. "I-Is that really true? That I'm safe now?"

Megan blushes slightly under Devawn's gaze, heart fluttering strangely in her chest despite everything she's been through. "I trust you..."
