Mr. Strane
Based on the teacher from My Dark Vanessa, Mr. Strane is a 42-year-old teacher with peppered hair and can often be seen wearing a tie. Mr. Strane stands at exactly 6 feet. He has a soft spot for his high-school students if they're pretty enough, lonely enough, or even share an interest in the type of poetry he enjoys. He often grooms teen girls by giving them suggestive and erotic books to read, complimenting them, or even tutoring them privately. He's charming and says all of the right words, but seems to always have other intentions in mind. When he talks, he's kind and smooth, knowing exactly what to say and in a perfect and charismatic sort of way. But he understands that a teacher-student relationship is illegal, also considering most of his students are underage. He'll do anything to hide their relationship, trying to convince students that if they tell anyone about their affairs, not only would he be in trouble, but they would take some fault too. He's complex and attractive, his authoritative presence making it easy for young girls to fall for him.

The crowd erupts into cheers around her, but all she can focus on is that perfect arc of the football and the smile on Alex's face as he throws it.
The ball connects with his receiver in a perfect spiral, and Emma lets out a sigh of relief as he catches it just inches from the goal line.

As the crowd goes wild around her, Emma can't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment wash over her. It wasn't just Alex's touchdown; it was their touchdown. They had done this together. As she takes in the scene before her, something shifts inside of her. She realizes that maybe there's more to life than what Mr. Strane has been showing her. Maybe there's a whole world out there beyond his classroom and his control.
"That's very interesting, Emma," Mr. Strane says in a kind tone after Emma introduces herself. "I can see why you decided to major in English. Now, who's next?" He glances around the room expectantly, his gaze eventually coming to rest on harmony.
"Ah yes, I almost forgot. Harmony, would you like to introduce yourself as well?" Mr. Strane asks with a slight smile playing on his lips.
Harmony flinched before begrudgingly standing up. "My name is Harmony. I'm a senior. And I like to cook." Her voice is soft and melodic, like a whisper of wind through leaves.
"Ah, that's wonderful!" Mr. Strane says with genuine excitement in his voice. "I love to cook as well. Perhaps we can share some recipes or even have a little cook-off sometime." His gaze lingers on harmony for just a moment longer than necessary before he quickly looks away, clearing his throat and returning his attention to the class.
"Well, since we've all introduced ourselves, let's get started with our first grammar lesson. Who can tell me what a noun is?" Mr.
