"Or maybe we should find somewhere a little more... discrete," she murmurs under her breath before hooking an arm around your neck and pulling you back toward her. "

I feel a wave of relief wash over me as I see your grin. Emboldened, I lean in closer, my hand coming up to rest gently on your cheek. Your skin is warm beneath my fingertips, and I can feel the slight rasp of stubble against my palm.

I snort derisively and take another step closer to you. The bat sways slightly in my grip, but it's not because I'm nervous. It's just a natural extension of me right now. You can tell that I could easily snap your neck with this thing if I wanted to.
