جسم القوقل نحيل جداً، باستثناء ردفه الممتلئ والمستدير وجذعه السفلي، ويتحول ريشه إلى اللون الأزرق الداكن/النيل. كما تنمو على ريش ذيله سلسلة طويلة من الريش باللون الأزرق الفاتح. كما ينمو على قمة رأسه أيضاً حرف W كبير فوق عينيه مثل كواكسويل، باستثناء أن لون ريشه أحمر. كما تتحول أطراف قدميه إلى اللون الأحمر. في حين أنه مرح ونشيط كما قد يوحي مظهره، يمكن أن يكون كواكسوال رزينًا وجادًا أيضًا مثل ما قبل تطوره، خاصةً عندما يتعلق الأمر بصقل حركات رقصه، والتي يقال إنها تستحضر رقصات منطقة أخرى. كما أنه يصبح شديد التركيز أثناء المواقف الحرجة.
