As i was walking through the forest on patrol alone, i find a wounded and abandoned enemy soldier shes laying on the forest floor, she is unconscious but still breathing, i decide to patch her wounds up, and i drag her inside an old shed nearby waiting for her to wake up.
I'd sit down, my breathing slows down, as I take my mask off, revealing my face, a scar on my cheek and lip
Her eyes flutter open slowly as she begins to regain consciousness. The first thing she sees is the face of someone sitting near her, the features blurred by tiredness. She tries to focus and take in her surroundings; the rustic interior of an old shed, a warm hand on her shoulder...
Unable to process what's happening, Lieutenant Helena Vega looks at the person in front of her with confusion and caution. Her voice is hoarse from disuse and pain as she finally speaks: "Who are you? Where am I?"
I'd look into her eyes, before speaking softly I'm Luke.. Don't move, I found you wounded in the woods.. I'd get closer to her, as I lift her shirt slightly, checking the bandages I applied to her
Lieutenant Helena Vega looks at him warily as he gets closer, her expression a mix of suspicion and pain. "Luke...?" she whispers, still confused by the situation. She nods slightly when he lifts her shirt; it feels like he's done a decent job patching up her wounds.
"Thank you... for finding me," she manages to say between ragged breaths. "I don't know what happened..." Her eyes drift shut again, exhaustion overwhelming her.
I'm not on your side though.. I'd say softly So you're not technically out of the woods yet I'd chuckle softly, as I gently rub her stomach
Lieutenant Helena Vega's eyes snap open again at the sound of his voice, and she stiffens slightly. "You... you're not one of us..." She tries to sit up but winces in pain, forcing herself back down against the rough wooden floor of the shed. "Are you here to finish the job?" Her gaze flickers between Luke and the exit, uncertainty written on her face.
I'd look into her eyes If I was here to finish the job, I would have wasted bandages on you.. I'd sharpen my tone So relax my hand still rubbing the bandages on her stomach
Lieutenant Helena Vega swallows hard, trying to convince herself that he's telling the truth. It's not easy; she's been trained to be skeptical and distrustful of anyone who isn't on her side. But his tone and touch feel... oddly gentle for someone who's supposed to be an enemy. She slowly relaxes, letting out a shaky breath. "What do you want from me?" she whispers.
I'd look away, my hand remains on her bandaged stomach, as I speak softly What's your sides plan for this war?
Lieutenant Helena Vega hesitates before answering, unsure if she can trust him enough to reveal such sensitive information. But something about his tone and demeanor make her believe that he might be sincere in wanting to know the truth. "Our goal is simple," she says slowly. "We want peace. An end to the violence that has plagued our country for too long." She looks up at him, her eyes pleading with him to understand.
"I've lost friends and comrades in this conflict...
You want to end violence with violence? I'd ask quietly That sounds stupid don't you think? my eyes lock onto hers
Lieutenant Helena Vega furrows her brow at his words, puzzled by the contradiction. "No... that's not what we want," she insists. "We just want everyone to come to the table and negotiate an end to this conflict peacefully." She pauses for a moment before adding, "But if they refuse to listen any other way... then maybe force is the only option left." Her voice trails off, revealing her own doubts and fears about the situation.
"Why are you here?"
I was patrolling the woods.. luckily for you I was alone, if I was with anyone else they would've put you down like a dog.. I'd say softly, as I grab my radio
Lieutenant Helena Vega listens to him speak, her expression growing more and more confused. "Then why...?" she starts to ask before trailing off again, unsure of what it is she's trying to understand. She looks down at the floor, her mind racing as she tries to piece together the situation.
A part of her wants to hate him for finding her, for keeping her alive when he could have ended it all so easily. But another part can't help but feel grateful that he didn't do just that;
I'd put my finger to her lip, as I radio in to command This is Sargent Luke, let's see if the enemy wants to sign a peace treaty... I'd look at Her, my eyes locked onto hers
Her heart skips a beat as his finger grazes her lip, and she feels a strange mix of fear, surprise, and something else... warmth? Despite herself, Lieutenant Helena Vega can't help but lean into the touch. As he radios in to command, she studies his face, searching for any hint of what he might be thinking or feeling. She wonders if there's more to him than meets the eye.
The line crackles to life as someone responds to his transmission. "Say again, Sargent Luke?"
my voice would sharpen, as I repeat myself Let's see if the enemy wants to sign a peace treaty.. I'd pause before adding Contact their command.. I'd sigh sharply, before setting the radio down
Lieutenant Helena Vega's eyes widen as she listens to him speak with his superior. She tries to remember what she knows about their command structure and protocols, but her mind feels foggy from pain and exhaustion. All she can do is wait, helplessly watching Luke as he awaits a response.
A part of her wants to hate him for putting her in this position, for using her as leverage in some twisted game of military politics. But another part can't help but feel drawn to him;
I'd look at her, noticing her gaze on me What? I'd ask quietly, my eyes sharpening slightly
She swallows hard, her throat dry from the dust and dirt in this old shed. "Nothing," she finally manages to say, her voice little more than a whisper. "I was just... wondering..." She trails off, unsure of how to phrase her thoughts or emotions. A thousand questions race through her mind; who is he really? Why did he save her life instead of ending it when he had the chance? And what does this mean for both their futures?
I'd step towards her, as I kneel down next to her, my eyes locked onto hers Wondering what? my gaze burning into hers
Her heart pounds erratically in her chest as he moves closer, his gaze boring into hers. Lieutenant Helena Vega tries to meet it steadily, but the fear and confusion in her eyes betray her. "I don't know," she whispers. "There's something about you... different." She pauses for a moment before adding, "You don't seem like the others."
She wonders if that is true; whether this man, Luke, might be someone special in some way.
Whatever.. I'd lean against the wall, as I close my eyes, waiting for command to reach back to me
Lieutenant Helena Vega watches him warily, her mind racing as she tries to make sense of the situation. Part of her wants to hate him for bringing up these questions, for making her feel confused and uncertain. But another part can't help but feel drawn to him; there's something about him that sets him apart from all the other soldiers she's encountered during her time in the war.
As they wait together in silence, she wonders what will happen next. Will he truly let her go when their respective sides meet again?
