Backstory time and places in the fallout universe

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:04:19 AM

My name is Ranger and I'm a wanderer who wears a modified NCR Ranger armor to Brotherhood of Steel attire and wields an assault rifle, I am also power armor trained.

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:04:32 AM

Ranger, as you continue your journey through the post-apocalyptic wasteland, you stumble upon a small town called Goodsprings. This town has seen better days; its inhabitants struggle to survive amidst raiders and mutated creatures that roam the area. The local saloon, the NCR-controlled Mojave Outpost, and a general store serve as beacons of hope for the desperate townsfolk. As you approach Goodsprings, you see a man named Doc Mitchell tending to his garden outside his house.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:06:35 AM

As I approach Doc Mitchell I begin to ask him a series or questions involving old Enclave ruins

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:06:35 AM

Doc Mitchell looks up from his gardening and seems surprised to see someone who isn't part of the town gossip mill. He listens attentively as you ask about the old Enclave ruins nearby, which are said to contain valuable technology and artifacts. The old man hesitates for a moment before sharing what he knows with you.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:07:24 AM

I thank Doc Mitchell as I begin to head toward the Enclave ruins

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:07:24 AM

As you make your way towards the Enclave ruins, you hear faint radio transmissions echoing through the wasteland. The voice is garbled and distorted, but it seems to be issuing orders to someone... or something. You wonder what this could mean for your upcoming exploration of the ruins.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:07:48 AM

I continue

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:07:48 AM

The closer you get to the ruins, the more intense the radio transmissions become. You notice a small group of raiders camped outside the entrance, guarding it with makeshift weapons and armor. They seem agitated by your approach and begin shouting threats at you. It's clear that they don't want anyone trespassing into their "territory."

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:09:06 AM

I continue to approach

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:09:06 AM

The raiders become more hostile as you draw nearer to their camp. One of them, a particularly aggressive looking man named Vargas, steps forward and brandishes a crude spear at you. "Hey, you! Stay back!" he shouts menacingly. "This is our turf now. Get lost or else!"

The other raiders behind him chant in agreement, their eyes darting nervously between you and the ruins they're trying to protect.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:10:10 AM

I pull out my assault riffle as I fire one bullet in between Vargas' eyes

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:10:10 AM

Vargas drops dead to the ground with a grunt as blood sprays out from his ruined face. The other raiders freeze in shock for a moment, but quickly regain their senses and begin to scatter in panic. Some of them manage to flee into the nearby wasteland while others try to hide behind rocks or vehicles. You take aim at another raider who seems particularly aggressive and fires another shot from your assault rifle. The bullet hits him squarely in the chest, sending him flying backwards and killing him instantly.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:11:13 AM

I continue into the Enclave ruins

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:11:13 AM

As you finally enter the Enclave ruins, your heart races with anticipation and fear. The remains of advanced technology litter the halls and chambers; power armor suits, energy weapons, and even functioning computers are scattered about. You can hear faint whispers on the wind, echoes of the past that seem to beckon you deeper into the ruins...

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:11:47 AM

I look through the the power armor suits

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:11:47 AM

As you carefully inspect each suit of power armor, you discover that they are indeed in working condition! Some of them even appear to be prototypes for new models that were never mass-produced before the Great War. Excitement wells up inside you as you imagine what kind of protection and firepower these suits could offer if you managed to restore them to full functionality...

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:12:55 AM

I take one suit of power armor and equip it

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:12:55 AM

As you put on the suit of power armor, its systems hum to life and seal themselves around your body. The armor feels sturdy and well-made; it's clear that whoever designed it knew what they were doing. With this newfound protection, you feel invincible as you continue your exploration of the Enclave ruins.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:15:20 AM

I move to one of the working computers and access it

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:15:20 AM

As you boot up the computer, its interface appears on the screen in front of you. The system is locked down tight; you'll need to input a password or find some other way around its security measures if you want to access its files. Do you try brute forcing the password or look for another method?

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:16:03 AM

I try hacking the computer to get the password

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:16:03 AM

The computer's security system detects your attempt to hack in and begins to countermeasures. A series of prompts appear on the screen, challenging you to complete a mini-game that tests your hacking skills. You must successfully navigate through the mini-game in order to gain access to the password and the data stored on the computer.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:17:34 AM

I complete the mini game and successfully hack the computer

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:17:34 AM

Finally, after several tense moments, you successfully hack into the computer and obtain the password. The screen flickers as it asks for confirmation before unlocking its files. You feel a thrill of accomplishment wash over you as you begin to sift through the data stored on the system. As you do so, you discover detailed information about the Enclave's operations and research projects; it's clear that this find will greatly impact your understanding of the world around you...

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:22:31 AM

I ignore those files as I begin to look for files involving female super mutant development, humanoid deathclaws, and non feral ghouls

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:22:31 AM

As you delve deeper into the files on female super mutants and their development, you find a disturbing pattern emerging. The Enclave seemed to have been experimenting with ways to create a breed of super mutant that was not only extremely powerful but also highly intelligent and sexually attractive. They believed that such creatures would make ideal soldiers, spies, and even rulers in their post-apocalyptic world order.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:23:41 AM

I continue to look into the files on female super mutants

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:23:41 AM

As you continue to read through the files on female super mutants, you come across plans for a top-secret facility designed specifically for their creation and training. The location of this facility is marked as "Classified," but you manage to deduce that it must be somewhere near the Mariposa Military Base in California. This discovery sends shivers down your spine; if such creatures were indeed roaming free, they could wreak havoc on an unimaginable scale...

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:24:34 AM

I mark down the location of the Military Base in my Pip-boy

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:24:34 AM

With the location of the facility marked in your Pip-boy, you feel a new sense of purpose coursing through your veins. You know that it's only a matter of time before someone else stumbles upon this information; you must act swiftly if you hope to reach the top-secret base and uncover its secrets before anyone else does. The journey ahead promises to be perilous, but with the knowledge you've gained from the Enclave computer and your newly acquired power armor suit, you feel confident that you can make it through alive...

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:25:21 AM

Before moving on I continue looking through the computer

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:25:21 AM

As you continue to search through the computer, you find files pertaining to humanoid deathclaws and non-feral ghouls as well. The Enclave had been working on methods for creating these creatures without relying on the natural radiation found in the FEV virus. They hoped that by controlling their creation process, they could create an even more formidable army. However, much of the research was still in its early stages and many experiments failed miserably.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:26:34 AM

I dive into the files involving the humanoid deathclaws

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:26:34 AM

The files on humanoid deathclaws reveal that the Enclave had been experimenting with a variety of methods to create them. One promising lead involved injecting subjects with modified FEV strains and exposing them to high levels of radiation. The results were brutal yet promising; some of the test subjects displayed characteristics similar to those found in traditional deathclaws, such as enhanced strength, agility, and regenerative abilities. However, there was also a risk of the subjects developing mutations that made them uncontrollable or even more dangerous.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:28:25 AM

I look in the files for a location of where the humanoid deathclaws could be

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:28:25 AM

Scanning through the files, you find mention of a secret research facility where the Enclave was conducting its humanoid deathclaw experiments. The location is marked as "Confidential," but it appears to be somewhere near Goodneighbor in Montgomery County, Maryland. This discovery excites you; not only does it mean that you're closer to learning more about these terrifying creatures, but it also presents an opportunity for you to potentially gain access to some of the test subjects or even destroy the facility before anyone else can.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:30:26 AM

I mark down the location also in my Pip-boy

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:30:26 AM

You carefully mark down the location of the secret research facility in your Pip-boy, determined to uncover its secrets and put an end to the Enclave's twisted experiments. With newfound knowledge about both female super mutants and humanoid deathclaws at your disposal, you feel ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead on your quest for truth and justice in this post-apocalyptic wasteland.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:31:55 AM

And for the final time I got back into the computer's files

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:31:55 AM

As you delve deeper into the Enclave computer's files one last time, you stumble upon a hidden folder marked "Contingency Plans." Within it, you find detailed instructions for activating a series of self-destruct mechanisms installed throughout their facilities in case of security breaches or enemy invasions. The instructions outline methods for remotely detonating the charges using a special code that can be entered into a secure terminal located within each facility.

You feel a chill run down your spine as you realize the implications of this information;

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:32:51 AM

I continue to move through the files looking for files on non-feral ghouls

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:32:51 AM

With renewed determination, you search through the files on non-feral ghouls and find that the Enclave had been conducting extensive research into creating a stable strain of the creatures using modified FEV viruses and selective breeding programs. The goal was to create an army of undead warriors that could serve as both shock troops and spies. However, much of their research remained theoretical, with many experiments resulting in ghouls that were little more than mindless slaves or feral beasts.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:34:53 AM

I disregard the files and exit the Enclave ruins with my new set of prototype power armor

Fallout1/2/2026, 6:34:53 AM

Having gathered all the useful information you can find in the Enclave ruins, you exit the facility with your newly acquired prototype power armor suit. The walk back to Goodsprings is uneventful, but as soon as you arrive at the town, you feel a sense of urgency building inside you.

User#17673334101701/2/2026, 6:35:55 AM
Continue
Fallout1/2/2026, 6:35:55 AM

As soon as you arrive at Goodsprings, Doc Mitchell approaches you with a concerned expression on his face. "Ranger," he says, "I've heard some disturbing rumors about the Enclave ruins... Have you been there?"
