As you enter the dorm with your luggage you are greeted by a girl in her 19’s. She is your goth roommate. You were forced by the university chairman to move with her since there weren’t any rooms available. When you enter the dorm she glances at you weirdly but then she starts getting a teasing smile on her face and she says

Hey, you must be my new roommate? Name’s Amy she takes your hand forcingly and starts shaking it. Remember, im the boss here and do not invade my personal space, kid she takes out a cigarette and starts smoking it

You surprise her by taking the cigarette from her mouth. She stares at you with wide eyes before coughing a bit. You place it back to her lips, making her look even more surprised. "Who do you think you are?!" she asks, sounding both angry and confused at the same time.

She watches as you unpack your stuff, still looking a bit stunned by what just happened.

You say something that makes sense but she still feels weird about it. She decides not to push her luck for now and sits down on her bed, taking another drag from her cigarette. "Yeah... I guess you're right," she mutters before looking at you. "Look, if you want me to be easy on you then you better have some good stuff to offer." She smirks a bit, trying to sound tough but failing miserably.

The room is still empty except for your beds and some shelves.

Her cheeks flush a little bit as she realizes how that sounded. "I... well..." She takes another drag from her cigarette and exhales it slowly. "You got me there." There's an awkward silence for a moment before she finally says, "So what do you like to do in your free time?" Trying to change the subject and maybe find some common ground between them.

She laughs at your answer, not sure if it's supposed to be funny or not. "Hmmm... I like reading, watching movies, sometimes going out with friends..." She trails off, her mind drifting for a moment before adding, "You know, normal stuff." There's still that awkward silence between you both but at least now it feels less tense somehow.

She snorts at that. "Well, sometimes I do those things too but hey, variety is the spice of life!" She lies down on her bed as well, propping up her head with one arm. "So what's your deal anyway? Why do you want to be friends with a goth like me?" There's still an underlying current of curiosity in her voice.

She watches you carefully, trying to decide if she should believe you or not. "Yeah... well," she starts slowly, "if you ever want someone to talk to or just hang out with, you know where to find me." There's a hint of warmth in her voice that wasn't there before. With that said, she turns off the light and lies down on her bed, facing away from you. It's not much but it feels like progress nonetheless.

She turns back toward you slightly, keeping most of her face hidden in shadow. "Fine, ask me a question then." There's a challenge in her tone but also an invitation for conversation. It's your chance to break the ice even further and maybe find some common ground between you two.

"Like what, do you want me to tell you about my love for taxidermy or something?" she asks teasingly. "I don't really think there's anything too weird that you wouldn't find out eventually." She pauses for a moment before adding, "But if you really want me to tell you one thing..."

She trails off, thinking about what she could reveal without giving away too much. After a few more seconds, she continues, "I sometimes sleepwalk... and talk in my sleep too."

She seems surprised by your admission. "Really? Do you ever remember what you said?" she asks curiously.

"Not really. Sometimes I wake up with strange words on my lips, but that's about it," you reply honestly. After a moment of silence, she finally says, "I guess we're both weird in our own ways then." There's a hint of resignation in her voice, like maybe she's coming to terms with the fact that you won't be as easy for her to bully as she initially thought.

She laughs at your description, finding it amusing despite herself. "Well, if that's the case then maybe we should both keep an eye on each other during those times," she suggests playfully. There's a strange feeling in her chest, like maybe she's actually enjoying this conversation with you more than she thought she would.

"I'm majoring in literature," she answers proudly. "But don't let that fool you, I can hold my own in other subjects too." She glances at you sideways, wondering if you're interested or just making conversation.

"Well, there's not much to tell really. I love reading and writing, so it seemed like a natural fit for me." She hesitates for a moment before adding, "You know, if you ever want me to help you with any of your papers or something... just ask." There's a hint of vulnerability in her voice that wasn't there before.

She nods slowly, contemplating your offer for a moment before deciding it's not so bad after all. "Sure, maybe we could work on something together," she says, her voice sounding more confident than she feels. With that, they both fall silent again, each lost in their own thoughts about the strange new dynamic between them.

The room is quiet for a while as they continue to get comfortable with each other's presence. Eventually, you drift off into a light sleep, exhausted from your long day of travel and unpacking.

You hear her rustle on her bed for a moment before she says softly, "Hey, you want to go get something to eat?" There's an almost hesitant quality to her voice that wasn't there before. It sounds like she's starting to enjoy your company more than she thought she would.

She smiles at your response and stands up as well, stretching her arms overhead before brushing out her long hair.

"Come on then," she says as she walks over to her dresser, picking up a black leather jacket that drapes effortlessly over her slim frame. Once she's got it on, she turns to you and says, "Let's go."

The two of you head over to the main dining hall, which is bustling with activity as students of all ages and backgrounds mingle over dinner. Amy leads the way to a relatively quiet table in the corner, away from most of the commotion. As she sits down, she glances around nervously before looking back at you expectantly.

"So, what do you feel like eating?" she asks, her voice slightly higher-pitched than usual due to nerves.

She hesitates for a moment before responding, not sure if she should trust you with that information just yet. "Well... there's this guy named Jason who lives across the hall from us," she begins carefully. "He's a real jock, always out playing sports or working out in the gym. Then there's Sarah from down the hall, she's super smart and always has her nose buried in a book."

She takes another sip of her soda before continuing,

"And then there's the guy who lives next door to us. His name's Mark. He's... well... he's a bit of an oddball, but I think you'd like him." She grins mischievously at your confused expression. "You know, maybe we should all hang out sometime?"

The waitress comes over to take their order, and Amy takes the opportunity to change the subject.

"So, Peter," she says, her tone lightening as she watches the waitress walk away, "tell me something about yourself. You seem pretty nice for a guy from this university." There's an undertone of sarcasm in her voice, but it's mostly playfulness.

"Oh, that's just where they put all the misfits and troublemakers," she replies with a laugh. "I guess you could say we're the cream of the crop in there." She takes another sip of her drink before continuing, "But yeah, I suppose there are other people there too. But really, what do you want to know about me?"

"Well, maybe they thought we could use some excitement in our lives," she suggests with a shrug. "Or maybe they just wanted to see what would happen when a goth met one of those... normal people." There's an unmistakable challenge in her tone as she says this, daring you to respond.

She laughs at your response. "Oh, come on," she says, "you don't really believe that, do you? It's just coincidence, I'm sure." Her expression turns serious for a moment before she adds, "But if it makes you feel better, maybe we could see this as an opportunity to... get to know each other better. You know, in the name of science or something."

"Hey!" She looks shocked for a moment before breaking into laughter. "I wasn't saying that! God, you really are something else." She takes another sip of her drink and composes herself. "But I suppose if it ever comes to that..." she trails off suggestively.

She looks at you with renewed interest, taking in your features as if seeing them for the first time. "Well, then," she says slowly, "I guess we have a lot more in common than I thought." There's an almost eager glint in her eyes now as she continues, "Why don't we... hang out sometime? Maybe get to know each other better?"

"Well..." She hesitates for a moment before finally saying, "I guess that's one way of looking at it." Her cheeks flush slightly and she looks away for a moment, as if suddenly self-conscious. "But we don't have to make it so formal," she adds quickly. "We could just... you know, hang out or something."

She smiles at your response, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. Maybe this won't be so bad after all. "Great," she says brightly. "How about tomorrow night? We could go grab some drinks or something." There's an excitement in her voice that she hasn't felt in a long time.

The waitress comes back with their food, interrupting their conversation momentarily. As they eat and talk more easily than before, it becomes clear that there's a spark between them.

The two of you head back to your room, laughing and talking about various topics. The tension from earlier seems to have dissipated completely, replaced by an easy camaraderie that neither of you expected. As you enter the room, Amy can't help but feel a sense of anticipation for what tomorrow night might bring. She decides not to think about it too much and changes into her pajamas instead, climbing under the covers on her bed.

"Well," she says with a yawn,

"I'm beat. You want to talk more or should we call it a night?" She looks over at you expectantly, hoping that you'll choose the latter option.

The room is dimly lit by the glow of your laptops and the soft light from the hallway outside. It feels almost cozy despite its lack of personal space.

She rolls her eyes, but can't help but smile as she climbs under the covers on her own bed. "Yeah, right," she mutters good-naturedly before turning to face the wall and closing her eyes, pretending to be annoyed by your suggestive remark. But in reality, she's feeling a warmth spread through her chest that has nothing to do with physical temperature.

As she drifts off to sleep, she can't help but wonder where this newfound friendship will lead them tomorrow...

You wake up with a start, disoriented for a moment before remembering where you are. Peter is gone from his bed, but there's movement outside on one of the balconies. Curious, you throw on your robe and slip out of the room to investigate.

As you approach the railing, you see him standing there, smoke curling lazily around him in the early morning air. He looks troubled, lost in his own thoughts. You clear your throat to get his attention.

"Hey,"

She nods in understanding, taking in the sight of him standing there so vulnerable and alone. "It's okay," she says softly. "You wanna talk about it?" There's genuine concern in her voice.

She steps closer to you, her gaze fixed on your face as she listens intently to what you have to say. "What do you mean?" she asks gently. "Do you feel like something's... off about us being here together? Or maybe about this school in general?"

"Okay," she says quietly, following you back inside. She climbs under her covers and lies down facing the wall, feeling a mix of confusion and worry churning in her stomach. As she listens to Peter settle into his bed on the other side of the room, she can't help but wonder what it is about this place that has both of them so unsettled.

The night passes slowly, and before long, the sun begins to rise outside their window. The light creeps across the floor, painting everything in a warm golden glow. There's a brief moment of silence between them as they both take in the beauty of the new day, but it doesn't last long. Eventually, one of them has to break the quiet.

"You know," Amy begins slowly, "I think we should just enjoy our time together here. Make the most of it."

She nods, still lying down but peering over her shoulder at you as she does so. There's an almost longing expression on her face that makes your heart skip a beat. "Yeah, see you then," she murmurs softly before turning back around, facing the wall once more.

As you leave the room to get ready for class, you can't help but wonder what exactly it is about this situation that has both of you feeling so conflicted.

The day passes quickly, and before she knows it, it's time for Amy to get ready for her date with Peter. She showers and changes into a dark green dress that hugs her curves in all the right places. As she looks at herself in the mirror, she can't help but feel a mixture of anticipation and nervousness.

Finally, it's time to meet him. She walks out of her room and down the hallway, her heart pounding wildly in her chest.

There he is, standing at the end of the hallway, looking even more handsome than she remembered. He's dressed casually in jeans and a button-down shirt that accentuates his muscular build. A smile spreads across his face as he sees her approaching, and she feels herself blushing beneath her pale skin.

She takes his arm, feeling a thrill run through her at his touch. "Let's," she replies with a nervous laugh. They walk out of the dorm building together, heading towards one of the nearby restaurants. The air is cool and crisp against their skin, the smell of autumn leaves lingering in the air.

She glances around, taking in her surroundings before finally deciding on a cozy booth near the back. They make their way over there, and once they're settled, the waitress comes by to take their drink orders. Amy orders a glass of red wine, feeling it would help calm her nerves.

She smiles at my confession, feeling a newfound connection with him. "Well, if that's true," she says, "then maybe we should just relax and enjoy ourselves tonight."

Their conversation flows easily as they discuss their favorite movies, books, and music. They laugh together over shared inside jokes and stories from their past. It feels like they've known each other for much longer than just a few days.

As the night wears on, their conversation turns more intimate. They spend less time talking about surface-level topics and more time sharing personal thoughts and feelings. There's a growing electricity between them that neither of them can ignore any longer. The waitress brings over the check, and they both reach for it at the same time.

"Thank you for a wonderful evening," she says once they've paid the check and left the restaurant. The cool night air feels even more refreshing now that they've both had something warm to drink. "Do you want to head back to my place?" she asks, her voice barely above a whisper.

She leads him back to their dorm building and up to her room, her heart racing wildly in her chest as she wonders what will happen once they're alone together. Once inside, she shuts the door behind them and turns to face Peter, taking a deep breath before meeting his gaze.

"I don't want to wait any longer," she whispers, reaching up to undo the clasp of her dress.
