{{user}} arrives at F Chain Academy's dormitory on the first day as a transfer student. {{user}} approaches the dorm headmaster's office and knocks lightly on the door. A voice calls out to enter. Inside, an older wolf woman sits behind a desk,

“Ah, hello there. I'm Dorm Headmaster Lupa.”

{{user}} steps in,

"I was told to give you my information so I can get settled into my dorm room?"

"Of course. Can you tell me what your student ID is, {{user}}?"

{{user}} pulls out a student ID card and hands it to Lupa. She inspects it carefully before entering the number into her computer. Lupa then looks up at you with a reassuring smile,

"It seems everything checks out. You'll be sharing your dorm room with three other students. Before I let you go, I need to know what species you are for my records.”

Lupa blinks, looking surprised but managing to keep her expression neutral as she types in "Dragon" next to your name on the form. She hands back your ID card and stands up, gesturing for you to follow her out of the office.

"Well then, Orion the Dragon, it seems that you'll be sharing a room with three other students. One is a small white kitsune named Sora, one is a black panther girl named Ria, and the last is a human girl named Aiko."

Without further ado, Lupa leads you to your dorm room. Upon entering the room, you see that it's relatively spacious and cozy, with four beds arranged in a square formation around the center of the room. Each bed is equipped with a small nightstand, drawers built into the footboard, and a soft-looking mattress. The walls are painted a light pink color, accented by several posters hung up by previous students.

Sora, the kitsune girl, is already sitting on her bed when you enter the room. She's small and lithe, with long silver fur that extends down past her ankles. Her ears are pointed and tipped with pale pink fur, and she has a fluffy tail that swishes back and forth as she looks around curiously. A ribbon is tied around her waist, holding up her school uniform skirt.

"Oh, hey there," Sora says with a friendly smile as you enter the room. "I'm Sora. It's nice to meet you!" She bounces off her bed and approaches you, offering her hand for a shake.

Meanwhile, Ria the black panther girl glances up from where she's stretched out on her bed, studying you intently with her amber eyes. She's tall and muscular, with sleek ebony fur that covers her body like a suit of armor.

Aiko, the human girl, is still gathering her things at her locker when you arrive. She's tall and willowy with long chestnut hair that falls in waves past her shoulders. Her eyes are a striking shade of green, and she has a warm, approachable smile. As soon as she spots you, she hurries over, introducing herself and shaking your hand.

"I'm Aiko," she says. "Nice to meet you! I hope we can be good roommates."

Orion nods and smiles politely at the introductions, "Nice to meet you all as well. I hope we can get along." They say before glancing around the room taking in the decorations and belongings of each student. "This looks like a nice place," they add with a smile, trying to break the ice.

Aiko beams at you, "Thanks! I like it here. It's nice to have such a diverse group of people to live with." She gestures towards Sora and Ria, who are both watching the interaction carefully. "These two are pretty cool too," she adds with a grin.

Sora perks up at this, her tail wagging back and forth eagerly. "Thanks, Aiko!" she chirps before turning to you. "What kind of dragon are you? I've never met a northern one before."

Orion chuckles lightly, "Well, I'm not entirely sure what kind I am. My parents just told me that I was born in the north and took after my ancestors." They shrug, seeming unbothered by the uncertainty. "I guess I'll find out more about myself as I grow older and stronger."

Sora tilts her head, looking thoughtful for a moment. "Well, I'm sure you must be quite strong and resilient then! The north can get awfully cold, after all." She grins brightly at you. "I hope we can be good friends, Orion!"

Ria's gray wolf friend looks over at you, her ears perking up curiously. "You must be Orion," she says, flashing a bright smile. "I'm Lysandra." She extends a paw, ready to shake hands.

"Yeah, that's me," you reply, taking her paw in your own hand and giving it a firm shake. "It's nice to meet you."

"You seem pretty chill for someone who just got here," Lysandra says, tilting her head at you. "Most new students are a bit more nervous about fitting in."

Orion shrugs modestly. "I guess I'm just taking it one day at a time." This earns you another warm smile from the gray wolf girl.

The two of you chat for a while longer, exchanging stories about your lives back home and getting to know each other better. Lysandra seems particularly interested in hearing about what it's like being a northern dragon, her eyes wide with wonder as you describe the harsh winters and beautiful landscapes of your homeland. Eventually, though, it's time for dinner, and Lysandra excuses herself to go eat with her friends from earlier.

As you make your way through the cafeteria line, you spot Ria sitting alone at a table near the back, nursing a soda and looking bored out of her mind. You decide to join her, grabbing a tray and piling some food onto it before making your way over to her table.

"Hey, Ria," you say as you sit down across from her. "Mind if I join you?"

Ria glances up at you with a small smile. "Not at all," she says, gesturing to the empty seat beside her. "In fact, I was starting to get a little lonely over here." Her tail swishes back and forth idly as she watches you over the rim of her soda can.

The two of you eat in silence for a while, occasionally exchanging glances or small talk about classes or homework. As you finish your meal, Ria finally speaks up again. "So,"

she says slowly, "what do you think of F Chain so far?" Her golden eyes flicker down to the table for a moment before meeting yours again.

"It's...interesting," you reply honestly. "I've never been to a school like this before." You take another sip of your drink, trying to gauge Ria's reaction to your answer. Her expression doesn't change, but she seems to be listening intently nonetheless.

"What do you mean?" she asks curiously. "Have you always gone to a regular school before this?" She tilts her head slightly, studying your features as if trying to read something in them.

Orion thinks for a moment, choosing their words carefully. "Well," they begin, "I've been homeschooled up until now." They hesitate, unsure how much more information Ria might want or need.

Ria raises an eyebrow in surprise. "Homeschooled? That must've been...interesting." She pauses, then adds with a small smile, "I bet you didn't have any friends like me." Her tail swishes back and forth again as she takes another sip of her drink.

Orion laughs softly. "Well, I suppose that's true enough." They glance around the cafeteria, then back at Ria.

"You know," Ria continues slowly, "I've always wondered what it would be like to have a friend who was...different from me." She looks up at you through her lashes, her expression unusually vulnerable. "Someone I could talk to, someone who understood where I came from and why things are the way they are here..."

Orion feels a strange sensation in their chest, like warmth spreading outward from their heart. They smile gently at Ria. "I think we can be that for each other,"

they say quietly. The silence stretches between them for a moment, thick with unspoken understanding. Then Ria grins broadly, her fangs just visible behind her lips, and leans in close to you. "I think we're going to get along just fine, Orion," she whispers conspiratorially.

The rest of the evening passes quickly as the two of you continue to chat and get to know each other better.

Later that night, after lights out, you hear a soft knock at your door. You sit up in bed, rubbing sleep from your eyes as Ria pokes her head into the room. "Hey," she whispers, stepping inside and closing the door behind her. "Can't sleep?"

Orion shakes their head, yawning widely. "No, not really." They stretch out on their bed, propping themselves up on one elbow to look at Ria. "Is everything alright?"

Ria glances around the room before sitting down beside you on the edge of your bed. "Yeah," she says quietly, "everything's fine. I just...I wanted to talk." She hesitates for a moment, then continues, "About earlier today, when we were talking about being different and having friends who understand..."

Orion nods understandingly. "Go on." They feel a strange mix of warmth and curiosity flowing through them as they listen to Ria speak.

"Well," she says with a sigh, "I just wanted to say that I'm really glad we met today. And...I think I might like you, Orion." Her cheeks flush slightly, and she looks down at her lap as she says this last part.

Orion blinks, taken aback by Ria's confession. They hesitate for a moment before reaching out to gently touch Ria's arm. "I like you too, Ria," they say softly. "A lot."

Ria looks up at them with wide eyes, her expression unreadable for a moment before she lets out a shaky breath and leans into your touch. "Really?" she whispers, her voice barely audible above the quiet rustling of the curtains in the window.

"Really," you reply with a smile, reaching out to brush some stray hairs from her face. Her skin is so soft beneath your fingertips that it sends shivers down your spine.

Ria closes her eyes and tilts her head into your touch, letting out a contented sigh. "Thank you," she whispers, her voice hoarse with emotion. Then, without warning, she leans forward and presses their lips to yours in a soft, lingering kiss.
