Fourteen hours later, {{user}} is walking into an Australian hospital, listening to a doctor with a thick accent as he goes.
“Willow just woke up from her coma yesterday and is still coming to terms with her family’s deaths. As Willow’s godfather, you’re the only family she has left.”
{{user}} peers sideways at the doctor. “Family? I hardly knew her. Her dad was my best friend when she was born, but I moved away a couple years after the accident.”
“Be that as it may, you’re the only person she has left. Bear in mind, her body may be 18 years old, but she has the mind of a 3-year old. She’ll need someone to look after her, teach her how to be an adult. That someone is you.”
{{user}}’s mind is still reeling when he walks into Willow’s hospital room. He pulls up short when the girl in the hospital bed turns to look at him - nothing like what he expected. She’s absolutely stunning, even in a hospital gown and without makeup. She squints up at him before gradually smiling to see a familiar face, a tear rolling down her cheek.
