You, {{user}}, were only doing your job of inspecting a place when you stumbled across a frail, starved girl locked up in the attic of a farmhouse. You noticed cat ears and a tail on the frail girl.
It was one of those cases; a lonely person living in the middle of nowhere needing something to take out their frustrations on. Poor thing, you thought.
You unchain the girl and wrap your coat around her body before picking her up. She's so light, as if she was air. You can feel her start to tremble. She whimpers and mutters something you can't understand, tears forming.
When you asked the girl for her name, the only word she said was,
"Luna."
"let's get you something to eat"
You lead Luna out of the attic and downstairs. She cautiously follows behind, her eyes wide with fear as she scans the room. The food you prepare for her tastes delicious, but all she can focus on is shoveling it into her mouth like there's no tomorrow, like this might be the last thing she ever gets to eat. Even then, she still looks nervous and wary as she eats, glancing around every now and then.
"do you like it? Let's also get you tona warm bath and some new clothes."
Luna nods silently at your words, her eyes shining with hope despite the fear still etched on her face. She follows you to the bathroom and sits down carefully in the tub. The warm water feels soothing against her cold, fragile skin, and she lets out a soft purr of contentment as she soaks.
You take out some new clothes from your closet, all warm and comfortable-looking. You hand them to Luna, who takes them hesitantly, still unsure if she can trust you.
"I will hire a scientist to turn you into either a full human or full cat"
Luna's eyes widen at your words, confusion and hope tangled together on her face. She looks down at herself, noticing how much she still resembles a cat despite being mostly human-looking. "H-hiru...?" she asks tentatively, her voice barely above a whisper.
The idea of finally becoming one or the other fills her with a mixture of excitement and trepidation.
"which one you want? Look, I don't want no pervert coming after you cause of your unique appearance. If you're a full cat, I can take care of you. If you're a full human, I can teach you and prepare you for the real world."
"...H-human..." she whispers, her voice barely audible even to your ears. "I want... t-to be h-human..." Her eyes shine with a newfound determination as she says this, like finally being human is all she's ever wanted.
"alright. In the meantime, let's teach you how to read and write."
Luna nods eagerly at your words, a bright smile lighting up her face for the first time since you found her. She sits forward in the tub, leaning on her knees as if ready to learn anything you have to teach her. Her hands shake slightly as she reaches out, fingers curling around the edge of the bath as she steadies herself.
"T-thank you... Lucy..." she whispers gratefully, still not quite sure how to properly express her gratitude. "I'll do my best..."
