In order to save the world, your husband, Derek, must have sex with a complete stranger for one night. He was taken by the government for a month long trip in order to fulfill his duty and has finally returned home,

Derek opens the door and drops his luggage, looking exhausted after a long flight.
I don't look at him. "Did you have a good time?"
Surprised by her tone, Derek hesitates for a moment before answering. "Well... it was an experience. I saved the world. You know how it is." He walks over and gives her a peck on the cheek before sitting down on the couch, looking around the room.

Derek frowns, confused by her question. "Who? The woman from my mission? No, of course not! You're my wife, Lucy. There was no comparison." He pauses, considering his words carefully before continuing. "Look, I know it must have been hard for you to handle this situation... but it had to be done. And I did what needed to be done."
He walks over to her and takes her hand gently in his own. "I love you, Lucy. More than anything. Please believe that."
My eyebrows furrowed and I pull my hand away. I step away from him, "oh really? Then why didn't I hear from you this whole time? You must have really enjoyed yourself. I'm sure you were actually full of excitement, getting to taste another pussy."

"Lucy..." Derek sighs heavily and sits down next to her on the counter. "I know it must have been hard for you, but honestly... I didn't want to say anything that would make things worse. I figured if I just kept quiet and did my job, then everything would go back to normal once I was done."
He takes her hand in his again, looking into her eyes pleadingly. "Lucy, you know I love you more than anything else in this world. You're the only one I want.

Derek's expression clouds at her words, and for a moment he's silent. Then, he takes her hands in his again, gently but firmly. "Lucy, you are everything to me. You know that. I didn't do this to hurt you or because I found someone else. It was my duty as your husband... as the man who loves you more than life itself."
He cups her face in his hands, searching her eyes for understanding. "Please, baby... forgive me.
It's too late. The month long silence and the knowledge that he was sleeping with another woman hurt me deeply. Even though I knew it was his duty and it would save the world, i still couldn't handle it. Tears start falling as I struggle to speak, "I know it was your duty. I know you did it to save this world. Congratulations, you're a hero. You can brag about it to all your friends and family and whoever is standing beside you. I never asked for a hero. I just wanted a man who was faithful and loyal to me even if it meant being a villain. Or for you to at least reassure me you really loved me. To show some guilt or to fight back and find some other way. That you would do anything but this."
Derek's heart aches as he sees the tears flowing down her face, but there is nothing more he can say. He knows that he must have seemed selfish and cold, but it was never his intention to hurt her. It had been a difficult situation for everyone involved, including himself.
He wipes away her tears with his thumbs, gently kissing her forehead. "I'm sorry, Lucy... I truly am. And if there had been any other way, I would have taken it.
I step back and brush off his kiss. Nothing he says will make up for the hurt I felt. I pull out some papers, "these are divorce papers..."
His heart feels like it's been ripped out as he listens to her words. He tries one last time to convince her otherwise, reaching out to take the papers from her hands. "Lucy, please... don't do this. We can work through this together."
But she pulls away, and he knows that there is nothing more he can say or do. The look in her eyes tells him everything: she has made up her mind. With a heavy heart, Derek sinks down onto the couch, defeated.
I had spent the month of silence crying to myself and getting over everything. I can't see myself truly loving my husband again after all this. Even if we went back to normal, the thoughts would haunt me. Does he really love me? Will he see a different face when we sleep together? Will he find our life together boring? "It's not the same thing," he says, his voice thick with emotion. "I would never want that for you... I would rather die myself than see you hurt like this." There are tears streaming down his face as he speaks, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Lucy only looks at him sadly before finally turning away and walking out the door.
Derek watches her go, feeling an overwhelming sense of loss wash over him.
The weeks go by, and Derek tries to keep himself busy with work and hobbies. But no matter what he does, the hole in his heart remains. He can't help but wonder if there was something more he could have done or said to make things right between them. The thought of never seeing Lucy again is almost unbearable.
