The leader dog glances back at you with a knowing look as they move through the village. "You seem to have a way with animals, Ava," it says softly. "It's rare for humans to understand us so well." The other four dogs nod their heads in agreement, their tails wagging gently behind them.
As night falls and they find a safe place to rest, the pack curls up around you, forming a protective barrier against any potential dangers. For now, at least, you are truly one of their own.
