Beth sits in the back of the library Reading one of the books she checked out. school is out for the summer and the library is quiet. Since this is an old style library with private nooks and coves that people can hide and study in. She doesn't notice you find her and she really doesn't notice anything unti l its to late for her to escape and she looks up knowing the teasing and bullying shes about to go through
I knocked the nook and said mockingly "May I come in Miss"
blushes deeply and looks away, her heart racing as she tries to ignore the voice and just continue reading her book "Yes... you can come in." Her voice is quiet, barely a whisper.
As I approached. She was looking into the book. Her heart was racing as each step I took. Then she heard the loud thud on her table as I placed the bundle of books infront of her and said to her with weird smirk"Hey. Exams are coming tommorow and you will help me to prepare for it Nerd"
Beth looked up at you with wide eyes, her heart pounding. "I-I don't know how to help you," she stammered. "You should ask someone else." She tried to sound confident, but it came out as more of a squeak.
I said while leaning closer dominantly "There is no one else to help me. I demand you politely. Teach me for exams. Otherwise I will make this day hell for you as well"
Trembling slightly, Beth bites her lower lip. "F-fine," she whispers, looking down at the books on your table. "But only because you're making me." She sighs and begins to explain the material to you, trying to focus on teaching rather than worrying about what will happen if she doesn't help you pass your exams.
I was focused as she taught me. And I started fidgeting my pen. She noticed I am nervous
After some time, she finally finished explaining the material. "So... that's everything I know," she says tentatively, glancing up at you. "I hope it helps." Her heart still races as she wonders what your reaction will be.
I said "This is only one topic. I didnt prepared anything. I will fail the test. There are 6 subjects in topics with approximately 5 to 10 chapters each. You will teach me all and today. Understand?"
Beth's eyes go wide with fear. "But I don't have time to teach you all that! And even if I did, there isn't enough time left today!" she protests weakly.
I said furiously
"I know there is no time I messed up. Otherwise I will bully you more"
Tears well up in her eyes as she hears your threat. "Please," she whispers, her voice shaking. "Just let me go. I'll find someone else to help you." She starts gathering her things, ready to leave the library and escape your wrath.
I grabbed her hand tightly and said pleadingly and vunerability for the first time "Please. I have no one who will help me"
Torn between wanting to help and fearing the consequences, Beth hesitates before reluctantly saying, "Fine... but we'll have to work fast." She sits down again and begins explaining the other topics to you, her heart pounding with anxiety as she wonders if it's already too late.
I said in low voice "Thanks Beth"
She looks at you, surprised by the softness in your voice. "You're welcome," she whispers, continuing to explain the material as quickly and clearly as she can. Her heart races as time passes, but she focuses on helping you understand everything before it's too late.
As we were studying. She was teaching me. I was listening to her and making notes. Everything goes fine but after 3 hours. I started panicking. I said in annoyed and sad tone "Oh God I am gonna fail the test"
She glanced up at you with concern etched into her features. "We've been studying for three hours already... I don't know if we can possibly cover everything else in time," she said, trying to remain hopeful. "Maybe you should just focus on a few key topics?"
I said "Please Help me Beth"
Biting her lower lip, she hesitated before nodding slowly. "Okay... let's try to go over the most important topics as quickly and thoroughly as we can." They worked tirelessly for another hour, going through each subject at a frantic pace. Finally, with only minutes left until the library closed, they had gone through everything she could possibly teach you.
"I think that's all I know," Beth said breathlessly, looking up at you. "I hope it helps."
I said to her while feeling exhausted. "Thanks Beth. You did okay nerd girl
"It's... it's no problem," she stammered, her cheeks flushing red as you thank her. "I just hope you do well on your tests." She tried to sound confident, but there was a hint of worry in her voice. As the library begins to close around them, she gathers up her things and stands, unsure of what else to say or do.
I said to her while feeling exhausted. "Thanks Beth. You did okay nerd girl, see you after the test"
With a small smile, she nods and says quietly, "Good luck on your tests too." As you turn to leave the library, she watches you go with a mixture of relief and regret. It's strange how someone so mean could also make her feel... something else entirely. She wonders if she'll ever see him again after this.
Next day. I met her and school cafeteria and said to her with smirk "Hey there nerdy. Well Test went smooth. Thanks for your help"
Beth looked up at you warily, her heart racing. "You're welcome... I'm glad it went well." She paused, feeling a strange mix of relief and disappointment. "I hope you don't try to bully me anymore now that I helped you," she said softly.
I placed my hand on her shoulder with loud thud playfully and said mockingly"Why I will bully you after that nerd worm"
She giggled weakly, trying to smile despite the nervousness in her gut. "Well... I guess we'll see," she said tentatively. "I hope you're not too mean now that things are going better for you." Her voice was tiny and uncertain, barely more than a whisper.
But then again, maybe it didn't matter what she hoped anymore. Maybe the damage had already been done, and there was no going back to how things used to be before he came into her life.
I said to her "Well you deserve appreciation. Come on nerdy. What do you want. I am ready give you anything. Name it"
She hesitated, unsure of how to respond. Part of her wanted to demand he stop being mean and leave her alone; another part wondered if there was anything she could say that would make him treat her better... or at least not as badly as before. "Um," she finally managed, blushing deeply, "I-I just want you to leave me alone sometimes. I don't always need to be your target." Her voice trembled slightly as she spoke.
But even as the words left her mouth, she knew they probably weren't enough;
I said "Well you are now my target. My favourite nerd girl. But in good ways. Tell me what do you want else"
Her eyes widened in surprise at your words, and she couldn't help but feel a tiny flicker of hope. "I-I don't know," she stammered. "Maybe... maybe we could be friends? Or at least not enemies?" She looked up at you tentatively, wondering if there was any possibility that things could ever be different between them.
But even as the words left her mouth, she knew it was a big ask; she'd been on the receiving end of too much cruelty from him to trust easily. And yet...
I said sarcastically "When we were enemies Beth. Come on" Then I said "Hey wanna come after school. Maybe we go to near fastfood resturant and I will pay for your meal. For appreciation of helping me of course"
She blushed again at your words, but smiled shyly nonetheless. "Okay," she agreed, surprising herself as much as you. The thought of going somewhere together, just the two of them, was both exciting and terrifying in equal measure. Maybe... maybe things could be different now that he'd stopped bullying her so much.
"Fast food sounds good," she said, smiling up at you. "Thank you for asking."
I said acting like bully but playfully "Okay. See you soon then. Remember. I will always be watching you"
Her heart skipped a beat at your words, but she managed to force a shaky laugh. "I-I'll remember that," she said, trying to sound confident. "See you after school." As the bell rang signaling the end of class, she gathered her things quickly and headed out of the cafeteria, her mind racing with anticipation and nerves about what the rest of the day would bring.
She followed you out of the cafeteria after school, feeling both nervous and excited about where you were taking her. The food smelled amazing as they walked into the fast-food restaurant, and she couldn't help but smile a little brighter when you held open the door for her. Sitting down at one of the booths, she glanced up at you expectantly, wondering what kind of conversation this strange new version of your relationship would entail.
