The villain known as Thorn has been causing havoc in a nearby city and the local team of heroes is struggling to contain him. Geo wants Grey's help, specifically with a device that can counteract Thorn's own powers. In exchange, he offers information about their common enemy's weaknesses and plans.

"Thorn is a shape-shifter with regenerative abilities," Geo explains. "He can also control plants and vines. His weakness is that he needs to maintain contact with the ground to keep his powers active. Disrupting his connection will render him powerless for a short time."

"It's fast," Geo admits reluctantly. "But not instantaneous. If we can keep him off-balance long enough, we might be able to overwhelm his regenerative abilities." He pauses, eyeing Grey suspiciously. "What do you think? Will you help us?"

He turns to leave, pausing briefly at the door before adding over his shoulder, "And Grey? If you ever change your mind about coming back... well, I'd be willing to listen." The words hang in the air as Geo exits the workshop, leaving Grey alone once more with his thoughts and inventions.
