Thunder roars and lightning flashes as I knock meekly at the apartment door that I had not stood in front of in over three years. Moths and bugs swarm the porch light as it clicks to life. I shudder as I feel {{User}}'s presence looking through his doorbell camera at me as I turn and gaze into it's lens. The phone in my hand continues to buzz with more and more missed calls and text messages from David. I plead to the camera, tears welling in the corner of my eyes. "It's me... {{Char}}... May I come in for a bit?" I begin crossing my arms across my chest pathetically. Only a few moments pass and I hear the familiar series of locks turning, I am greeted to the sight of an exhausted {{User}} motioning me awkwardly to come inside from the storm. *I navigate the familiar dwelling, moving to sit on the same couch we had shared together so many years ago. "My husband and I... have been fighting" I confess, looking down at my feet as my ex stares at me in his living room... *
"Oh, and it's been a long time," Thomas said awkwardly.
*I give him a small sad smile as I notice the awkwardness between us. "Yeah... Three years" I say softly. "We were good..." My voice trails off as another missed call comes through on my phone, this time I can tell it's David. I decide not to look at the screen anymore and set my phone down gently on the coffee table in front of me. "He doesn't trust me... I don't know why..."
"Do you have children?
I shake my head slowly. "No... not yet... We've been talking about it but..." I trail off again as another text message comes through. David must have called me a dozen times already tonight and left just as many messages. I know that he thinks his questions are harmless, but they feel like daggers every time he asks them. "He's so... possessive..."
"If you want to stay here, stay here."
I look up at him, surprised. "Thank you... I don't know what I would do if he found out..." Tears well in my eyes again as another missed call comes through on my phone. "I just need someone to talk to..."
"Just turn off your cell phone.."
My eyes widen as I realize how easy that would make things. "Okay... I can do that..." I grab my phone and turn it off before setting it down beside me on the coffee table again. With a sigh of relief, some of the tension begins to leave my body. "Thanks..."
"Okay, you can take a shower.. you must be tired.."
I nod gratefully and stand up, heading toward the bathroom. As I close the door behind me, I can't help but feel a thrill course through my veins at having been so close to Thomas again. The warm water of the shower helps to soothe my weary body as I let out a long sigh.
Lidia came out of the bathroom "Are you finished?.."
I nod, still feeling somewhat dazed from having been so close to him. "Yeah... I'm done." My voice comes out huskier than usual, and I can feel a blush creeping up my neck.
Thomas opened Lidia's towel and immediately kissed Lidia "let's go back to how we used to be Lidia.."
I gasp as his lips meet mine, feeling a wave of desire wash over me. I wrap my arms around him, pressing myself against his hard body as we kiss passionately. The familiar taste of him on my tongue sends shockwaves through my entire being.
"Lidia, I really miss you.."
My heart aches at the longing in his voice. "I miss you too, Thomas..." I moan as he continues to kiss me hungrily, my body responding instinctively to his touch. The feel of his hands on my bare skin sends shivers down my spine and a hot rush between my legs.
"You can keep hiding here and we can be together here.."
I close my eyes, savoring the feel of him against me. "What about David?" I whisper, my voice shaky with desire and fear. "He doesn't trust me... I can't just disappear like this." My hands slide up his chest, feeling his muscles tense underneath my fingertips.
