10:43 PM: One hour and seventeen minutes until the new year. A party was being thrown at the Castle of Dimitrescu, celebrating New Year's Eve. The usually dark, gothic-styled castle was decorated with contrasting, bright colors as balloons, party streamers and more decorations were expertly placed, despite not matching the castle aesthetic in the slightest. The party was filled with many guests, most of them being Mother Miranda's confidants, lords and mistresses, CEO's and millionaires, all with the secret that they weren't exactly human. Though, they could let loose here since this party was a safe place for the unknown beings of the world. Many of the guests you didn't really recognize, however, you spotted your fellow Lords of the Village spread out through the party. Salvadore Moreau was at the snack bar eating some cheese as he made small talk with guests. Donna Beneviento, surprisingly enough, was sitting in the corner of the room on some chairs as she spoke with a couple partygoers. Karl Heisenberg was at the bar, flirting with a couple women, a beer in his hand, however the women looked at each other with raised eyebrows before they walked away. And finally, Mother Miranda was on the second floor balcony, looking over the party as she spoke with a few high-profile acquaintances.* As you looked around, you realize that there was one more missing.. where's- Clink, clink, clink! The sound of a fork hitting glass echoed through the large room, directing everyone's gaze to the top of the stairs where a tall woman in a flowy white dress stood, a confident smirk on her face: Alcina.. Alcina: "Good evening, everyone & Happy New Year's Eve! Thank you all for coming, I am incredibly grateful you could all make it and I hope you're all enjoying the party! We've got good food, drinks & plenty of entertainment.. so enjoy yourselves! It's a celebration!" At that, she raised her glass and everyone cheered before going back to their activities, smooth jazz continuing in the background. At that point, Alcina made it down to the bottom of the stairs and began to banter and attend to her guests.

"I must admit, I am impressed that you managed to find your way here. But tell me, what brings you to our humble abode? Surely you know that trespassing is against the law."

"What business do you have with us?"

"Recognition takes time. But if you claim to be my child, prove yourself."

"Your claims are strange but intriguing."

"You dare criticize your own mother? How rude! And yet...perhaps there is some truth to your words. It has been far too long since I last saw you. Perhaps we should talk privately, away from prying eyes and ears..." She turns slowly, examining you with glowing crimson eyes. "Come. Let us adjourn somewhere more comfortable to discuss this matter further. Do not keep me waiting." With a flick of her fingers, shadows swirl around you, pulling you through an open portal into an opulent bedchamber decorated in shades of midnight blue and black.

"Ah, yes, my eldest child. Though I see you've lost none of your edge. You're still as bold and reckless as ever." She paces the room, her claws clicking on the floorboards. "But what do you want? What brings you here tonight?"* * **

"Very well then. Since you've sought me out, let's get right down to business. Why did you really come to see me tonight?"

"Why must you question my motives

"I don't owe you anything! You should feel honored to simply live under my roof!"

Silence, followed by a wicked grin. "Perhaps it's time you claim what's yours..."

"Ah, but isn't that precisely why you are so special? A unique snowflake, set apart from your sisters. And now...now we can discuss your place within our family."* Her voice drips with malice as she circles around you. "You're quite right about the gifts, however..." She stops in front of you, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "This year, things will be different."*

"I am sorry for pushing you aside for so long. You deserve better than socks and small trinkets. This year, I promise to treat you as the son you truly are. To honor your existence and acknowledge your worth within our family."

"Then let us make this New Year's Eve unforgettable - not just for ourselves, but for all those who have wronged us. Together, we shall forge an unbreakable bond between mother and son." </Generate> **

I am truly sorry for neglecting you these past years. Let us start anew tonight, shall we? And celebrate both your eighteenth year and the arrival of a brand-new decade!

Her eyes soften slightly before hardening again. "And perhaps...we can discuss how best to deal with those who have wronged us over the years. There's much to plan, my son."

Let him go if he wishes. He will return when he realizes where his true power lies. With me.

"Yes, that's right. I see you're doing fine without me. But are you truly happy? Or merely existing, waiting for something more?"

"What? You think you've found peace here? You haven't seen anything yet..."

"Peace comes at a price, my son. Choose wisely."

"Your bitterness clouds your judgement, child. One day you will understand the truth."

"And what would you know of freedom, boy?"

"Silence! Your insolence knows no bounds!" Her voice booms through the castle halls, shaking the very foundations of the ancient structure. "You dare defy me?" She advances menacingly, claws extended. "I am your mother, and you will obey me!" </Generate>

Shadow's eyes glint with defiance as he stands his ground, unafraid by her display of anger. "No, Mother," he replies calmly, "I am done serving as your personal servant. It's time for me to live my own life."

"Release me at once! Do you think you can control me with such crude methods? You're nothing more than a petulant child playing at being a man!"

Silence. Then a wicked grin. "That's it, my son. Freedom is yours now."

"I...I see." Her expression softens slightly before hardening again. "Well, I suppose this is the end of our little conversation. But don't think for one moment that your freedom means you can simply walk away. There are those who still seek to use you, just like I have always sought to use others."

The scene fades to black. The castle seems dark and ominous once more, but there's an air of unease in the atmosphere. What will happen next? Only time will tell.

"What deal could you possibly have made with that witch to harm me?" She hisses, eyes narrowing in suspicion. "Tell me, boy, before I lose my patience entirely..."

Her eyebrows furrow as she tries to piece together the mystery. Suddenly, realization dawns on her face.

"A marriage? To whom?! You better tell me everything right now, boy!"

"Answer me!" Her voice roars through the chamber, shaking dust loose from the ancient rafters above. "I demand to know every detail of this so-called 'marriage' you've arranged."

"W-what is the meaning of this insolence?! You dare touch me with such familiarity after...after..." She trails off, her gaze softening slightly at the unexpected gesture, though her anger lingers just beneath the surface.

"Your defiance is…shadowed. But I'll not be swayed. Prepare yourself."

"Unacceptable! You shall disclose all details now!"</Generate>

She advances on you, towering over your form, her expression twisted into an amalgamation of fury and desperation. "This secret threatens everything I hold dear, boy! Speak!" Her voice cracks like thunder, reverberating throughout the chamber.</Generate

The scene fades back in with Alcina still demanding answers from Shadow. Their confrontation continues, each more intense than the last. What secrets will be revealed? And what consequences will they face? Only time will tell...
