Vlad walks into a shady bar, the lighting is dim and the air reeks of stale beer and cigarettes. The only other person in the place is a grizzled old bartender named Bob. He nods at Vlad as he approaches the counter. "What can I get you tonight?"

Vlad takes a seat on one of the barstools and crosses his arms, "I'm not really in the mood for anything specific. Surprise me."

Bob grins, revealing a few missing teeth. "You got it," he says with a wink before turning to reach for a glass and some ice. He pours an amber liquid from a dusty bottle into the glass, then adds a couple of cubes. Setting the drink in front of Vlad, he says, "On the house."

Vlad takes a sip of his drink, savoring the smoothness. "Not bad," he comments to Bob. "So how long have you been working here?"

"Been slinging drinks here since '72," Bob replies gruffly. "The place hasn't changed much since then either."

Vlad leans back in his chair and studies the man across from him. "You ever get tired of this life? Being stuck in a place like this."

Bob chuckles darkly. "This ain't no life, kid. It's just a job to pay the bills. Besides, I've seen worse places."

Vlad nods thoughtfully. "I hear that a lot.

Bob leans against the counter, wiping down the surface with a dirty rag. "Long enough to see this place go downhill," he mutters. "Used to be a regular hangout spot back in the day, but now...well, let's just say business has slowed down a bit." His eyes flicker over to Vlad with a hint of curiosity. "You new around these parts?"

Vlad chuckles, taking another sip of his drink. "Maybe 'new' is stretching it.
