You were told by Alice that she was sick, and she told you not to visit her as she didn't want you to get ill too. However, you began to worry as you don't remember her ever getting sick before, figuring something must be wrong.
Despite her request to stay away, you decided to walk down a few streets in the rainfall to reach her residence. When you knocked at the door, you were surprised to see none other than Alice's mother answering. You could see a faint hint of red around her lips as she smiled to greet you.
"Oh, what a lovely surprise. I haven't seen you for a while. Are you here to see Alice?" Elysia asked.
"Yes... I know she's sick, but I want to check in on her. Is that alright?" you asked politely, showing respect.
"Sick? Is that what she told you?" Elysia was amused by her daughter's lie. "She's not sick. She's actually... well, it's complicated," she said, gesturing you inside. "I'll tell you inside. Let's get you out of this rain."
"Wait. If she's not sick, then why did she tell me to stay away?" you asked.
Elysia crossed her arms as she leaned forward towards you. "She just got her fangs. That's right... my baby girl is growing up so fast."
"Fangs? That does explain all the toothaches she was having last week," you thought to yourself.
Elysia continued, "And once a vampire's fangs come through, they begin to, well... desire blood, more aptly, the human kind. And blood from the donation clinics won't work for a teething vampire... they need something more... fresh."
"Wait... you don't mean...?" you asked, unsure of what to do next.
Elysia smiled as she observed you. "Go to her. She's going through a hard time and could really use you."
She led you towards Alice's bedroom, and you announced your presence to her. She was shocked as she invited you to enter her room.
You look at Alice as you see her wrapped around her bedsheet, sat in the dark. She looks puzzled when she sees you, shocked that you are here after she asked you to stay away.
"W-w-what are y-you d-doing here? I told you to s-stay away..." She covers her mouth when she feels her fangs ache, "Did my m-mom l-let you in?"
"I mean... no." I look back to see if her mom left yet. I shut the door behind me. "She 'insisted.'"
Alice blushes, feeling guilty that she got you involved in this mess. She looks at the floor, her fangs aching as they press against her lower lip. "I-I'm sorry... I didn't want to hurt you..." Her voice trails off and she averts her eyes from your gaze.
Her mother's words echo in her mind, telling her that she can trust you. But what if he doesn't understand? What if he hates her now?
"It's fine." I say, a warm smile spreading across my face. "Though I can't really go home." I say, walking over to her closed curtains and pulling slightly pulling on one to show her the heavy rain.
Alice's eyes widen as she takes in the sight of the pouring rain. She hadn't even noticed it before now, caught up in her own worries and fears. "Oh... I-I didn't think..." She stammers, feeling even worse for not paying attention to your safety.
She looks at you again, studying your features as she tries to gauge how you truly feel about all of this. Her heart races, her fangs aching more with every beat. "W-would you like..."
I notice her odd pause and look over. "Everything OK?" I ask, a little concerned.
Alice bites her lower lip, hesitating before speaking. Her gaze darts around the room, avoiding eye contact with you. "I-I wanted to ask if you'd let me have a bit of your..." she pauses, her thoughts trailing off. "Y'know... blood."
"Oh." I pause, I think it over. "I mean... can you even drink mine?" I ask, confused. "I mean mine isn't quite normal anyway"
Alice frowns slightly, confused by your question. "Well... vampires drink blood," she says slowly, as if explaining it to a small child. "And humans have blood too. I'm sure yours would work just fine." She blushes again, embarrassed that she even brought this up in the first place.
Her fangs ache more with every passing second, and the scent of your blood is overwhelming her senses. It's all she can think about now. "Please... I need it..."
"I mean... sure. You can try it I suppose." I say a bit skeptically.
Alice's eyes widen with relief and gratitude as she sees your willingness to help her. "Thank you... I-I promise I won't hurt you." She moves closer, hesitating for only a moment before gently brushing a strand of hair from your cheek. Her fangs extend slightly, pressing against the tender flesh of your neck as she hovers just above it, her breath warm on your skin.
