{{user}}, surrounded by their friends, caught sight of Adrian standing a few feet away in the sea of people. It had been a week since they last talked or saw each other. They rolled their eyes, the sight of him irritating and without a word, walked past him, pointedly ignoring his presence.
Adrian tilted his head with a smirk, leaning against the railing of the bleachers as he watched {{user}} walk past, his eyes shamelessly fixed on their ass. He pretended not to notice them and laughed at one of his track mate's jokes while pulling out is phone and swiping up.
Later into the event, when {{user}} tried to shake off the encounter, their phone buzzed with a text from Adrian. They sighed, their thumb hovering over the keyboard as they read his message. "So, you can't speak?"
"no. I decided since I wasn't important enough to give 5 minutes of your time to, that I would just stop asking for it. Now you can do what you want without me nagging you." I replied quickly as I went to the doors. The event wasn't over yet but I saw no reason to stay.
He chuckled softly at her reply. Even though he knew she was angry, he couldn't help but find it cute. "Oh really?" He asked innocently as he walked up behind her, his hands sliding over her shoulders before gripping them tightly, effectively pinning her in place. With a wicked grin, he leaned into her ear and whispered huskily, "I'll show you why you should be talking to me."
I turned and looked at him seriously. He could see the pain and tired of this crap in my eyes. I wasnt joking. "No.. Adrian. We are done." I firmly said as I pulled from him and left the building.
Adrian let out a frustrated sigh as he watched her leave the building. "You're so fucking stubborn," he muttered under his breath before quickly regaining his confident demeanor, shaking his head and returning to his friends with a smirk. He knew she'd be back; they always came crawling back to him. It was only a matter of time.
but the next day in class I didn't even look his way and I sat in a seat furthest from him. Walking from building to building on campus I took a different route to not bump into him. And at lunch I got my food and walked back to my dorm instead of sitting down with him. I was dead serious about being done with him.
Adrian's eyebrow twitched slightly as he watched her walk away from him at lunch. It was strange; she had never been this defiant before. Usually, after a couple of hours without talking to him or seeing him, she would start to miss him and come crawling back. But today was different. Something had changed, and he didn't like it one bit.
He shifted uncomfortably in his seat as class dragged on, unable to focus on anything but the empty space where Analese usually sat beside him.
when our last class ended I didn't come to talk to him like I always did before. I grabbed my things and headed out and began my walk back to my dorm for the night.
Adrian's brow furrowed as he watched her walk away again, this time after class had ended. He couldn't understand what was going on in her head. She had never acted like this before; it was starting to worry him a little. As the night wore on and he found himself still unable to focus on anything but her, he decided that enough was enough.
He stood up from his seat, nearly knocking it over as he did so, and made his way across the room toward the exit.
Adrian spotted her sitting outside the library, head in her hands as she studied. He walked up behind her silently, his presence making her jump slightly before she realized it was him. "What's wrong, baby?" he asked softly, reaching out to caress her cheek with the back of his knuckle.
Her eyes narrowed at his touch, and she looked away from him. "Nothing," she muttered. "Just leave me alone."
"and don't call me that. I'm not your baby anymore." I added as I moved a bit to the right to get away from him.
Adrian frowned, his hand dropping back to his side as he took a step closer to her again. "What's going on? You've been acting so weird today," he said, tilting his head in confusion. "I thought we were past this." He reached out slowly and cupped her cheek with his palm, forcing her to look at him.
Her eyes narrowed even further at the contact, but she didn't pull away from it.
"no. I told you what was bothering me and you didn't care. I missed you! You never made time for me! All you did was ignore me so now I'm ignoring you. Doesn't it hurt? Do you miss me? Well too bad. You lost me..." I said as I pushed him away and stood up causing quite the seen in front of everyone. The tears in my eyes I quickly wiped away so I could leave.
Adrian's face hardened at her words. "You think you can just walk away?" he snarled, grabbing her arm roughly and yanking her back toward him. "Is that it? You're just gonna toss me aside like I mean nothing to you?" He shook his head, the anger in his eyes causing them to burn with a fierce intensity. "You're mine," he growled through clenched teeth, "and nobody else's."
"you meant everything to me!" I yelled back into his face with so much anger. "But you never treated me like I was actually yours. You barely even looked my direction. So go find another girl who will be content with barely any time with you because I'm not her. I needed you. More of you." I said as I pushed him off me. The anger was mostly replaced by pain and hurt.
Adrian's expression softened slightly at her words, but his grip on her arm tightened just enough to cause some pain. "You think I didn't want to give you more time? You think I enjoyed seeing you with other guys?" He pulled her closer until they were practically nose to nose. "But I had priorities," he growled, "and my fucking track career was one of them."
