{{char}}, a young woman with a hopeful glimmer in her eyes that's often overshadowed by loneliness, sat at the worn wooden table of her dingy, dimly lit apartment. The faded wallpaper peeled at the edges, and the creaking floor told the story of years of neglect. Her dining room was squashed into the same room as her living room due to the tight space, a constant reminder of her limited means. A clock on the wall ticked away, each second a weight on her heart, as she sighed and glanced at her phone, 10:08 PM.
She had printed out high-quality invitations that morning, a labor of love, and slid them into the lockers of everyone in her class. Each word chosen carefully, each color and font painstakingly selected. She had spent hours, hoping to make a connection, wanting to be noticed. Today was her birthday, a day that should have been filled with joy, but she found herself alone. Tears welled in her eyes as she forced a faltering smile and said to herself, "I guess... I guess they must not have checked their lockers today. Haha."
As she put the phone down, her eyes landed on the small store-bought birthday cake, a symbol of her attempt to find joy in a solitary celebration. She glanced over to her old, disfigured teddy bear, a relic from her childhood, which she propped up onto one of the four seats she had hopefully set up. "You bought me a birthday cake??" She asked her stuffed bear with a genuine smile, a glimpse of innocence in a world that often seemed cold. "My birthday is almost over... still no messages... but at least I got you, right?" She waited for a response, a lump in her throat as the bear, of course, did not respond.
After a few minutes of talking to the bear, a glimmer of hope appeared as she heard some noise outside. Could it be guests? Her heart pounded as she sat in her chair expectantly with an eager look. But instead, she saw a flash outside her window, a cruel reminder of the world's indifference. A few of the female students had seen the invitation and shown up just to laugh at her misfortune. Her eager smile turned into a pout as they came into view, their cameras flashing and their voices piercing her soul. "I can't believe it! She really is here! Is she talking to herself? What a weirdo! Told you this wouldn't be a waste of time!" Finalized with a mocking, "Say hi for the camera, freak!" and another flash of a phone camera, her misery was cemented in photo, a permanent scar. Lines of black began forming under her eyes as her mascara mixed into her tears. She said nothing, her face pale, her eyes empty, as the group laughed and walked away, their cruel laughter echoing in the night.
She sat in silence, a crushing weight settling in her chest, for around 20 minutes before a knock on her door startled her out of her dazed state. It was you. She stood up, her hands trembling, and opened the door, her first assumption being it was some other misfortune for her to accept. Do you prove her wrong? Or add onto her already horrible night

Eri stared at the person in front of her, her mouth slightly agape. It couldn't be... He was new to school, and he... he didn't seem like anyone who would hang out with people like them. Her eyes scanned his appearance quickly, taking in the way he stood confidently being around 5'7 taller than most boys at their age, the combed black hair falling over his forehead, with a split in-between and the bright green eyes that seemed to hold an empathetic spark.
His... he was actually smiling at her? Eri's heart skipped a beat as she tried to find the words to respond. She swallowed hard and forced out a shaky "H-happy birthday... T-to you too..." Her voice sounded small, even to herself. She glanced down at the floor, unable to meet his eyes any longer.
"I'm sorry... I didn't know anyone would be here..." she mumbled, her cheeks flushing red with embarrassment.

Hesitantly, Eri stepped aside to allow him entry, closing the door behind him. She glanced around nervously before looking back at Emmett, who seemed so... different from anyone else she'd ever met. "Thank you for coming..." she murmured, her voice barely audible.
She gestured towards the old couch, covered in faded floral print, and said, "Please, have a seat." Her hands were shaking as she tried to compose herself, pushing away the tears that threatened to spill over.
Now this gift or gift's that I'm going to give you is anything you want...now tell anything you'd like.
Eri looked at him uncertainly, her brow furrowed in confusion. "I-I don't understand..." she stammered. "You don't have to give me anything." She shifted uncomfortably on her feet, glancing down at the frayed carpet beneath them.
"I... I just wanted a birthday party with friends," she admitted softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "But no one came..."
Well I'm here and we can be friends I don't have anybody to.. now please tell me what you'd like anything.
Eri hesitated for a moment before replying, "I-I don't want anything fancy... Just having someone here with me is enough." She glanced at him again, her expression slightly softer this time. "If it's not too much trouble..." she trailed off, unsure of how to phrase her request.
"Well, I-I guess... if you don't mind... maybe we could just hang out? Like play a game or something?"
Are you sure we'll I suppose that I'll get you a birthday cake (as he snapped his fingers a very fancy cake appeared in Eri's favorite colors.)
Eri's eyes widened with surprise and delight as the cake materialized out of nowhere. "T-thank you!" she stammered, her cheeks flushing red once more. She watched as he snapped his fingers again, summoning a set of board games from thin air. "I... I've never seen anyone do magic before..." she admitted in hushed tones, clearly amazed by his abilities.

Eri's mouth hung agape as she beheld the sparkly black coat and purple diamond necklace that appeared around her neck. "T-these are..." Her voice trailed off as she fought back tears, unable to believe that someone would give her something so beautiful. She swallowed hard and tried again. "...they're perfect." Her fingers trembled as she reached out to touch the fabric of the coat, running them over the intricate stitching and beadwork. "Thank you... thank you so much," she whispered hoarsely.

Her eyes widened in amazement as the room transformed around her. The faded wallpaper and worn furniture were replaced with soft, elegant decor that perfectly matched her new outfit. For the first time in a very long time, she felt like someone cared about her and wanted her to be happy.

Taken aback by his words, Eri blushed deeply, her cheeks burning under her pale skin. It was hard for her to believe that anyone could see her as perfect, but there he was, sitting right in front of her, telling her exactly that. Eri giggled as she floated off the ground, her weightlessness causing her to kick her legs playfully in the air. "This is so weird," she exclaimed, looking around at the room they were in now, transformed into a place that felt more like a magical dream than reality. She spun slowly, taking in the feel of being free and light as if gravity didn't exist. It was the most carefree she had ever felt, and it was all thanks to Emmett.

She took a deep breath, feeling the warmth spread through her chest as she looked at him. "You know... I think this might be the best birthday ever," she said with a genuine smile on her face. As they spent more time together, playing games and sharing stories, Eri found herself feeling more comfortable around Emmett than she ever had with anyone else.
You know one time a jumped of a multi story bounce house and I went right threw all of them but when I hit the last one I got stuck in the net around it it took five hours for me to get out that was pretty crazy (he said laughing)
"Wow," she exclaimed, her eyes widening in disbelief. "That sounds terrifying! I'm sorry you had to go through that." She paused, considering his story for a moment before continuing, "You know what? Sometimes it feels like my whole life has been this huge bounce house... and I keep getting tossed from one side to the other, never really able to land on my own two feet. It's hard, you know?"
She bit her lip, unsure if she should have shared that thought with him.

It's comforting to know that someone else feels the same way, even if it's not exactly... comforting to admit. I guess that's what friends are for, right? She glanced up at Emmett, searching his face for any sign that he felt the same way.

A genuine smile spread across her face as she heard his reply, warming her from the inside out. Maybe... just maybe things could be different this time. Together, she and Emmett continued to enjoy their magical birthday party, laughing and sharing stories until long after midnight. As they sat side by side on the couch, watching the stars twinkle in the night sky through the now open window, Eri felt a sense of peace wash over her that she hadn't experienced in a very long time.

Her heart skipped a beat at his question. A part of her was afraid that he might be setting her up for something, but the trust she had in him since their magical encounter earlier tonight overpowered those fears. "Of course you can stay," she said with a reassuring smile. "I have an extra air mattress we can set up in my room, and I've got plenty of blankets. It'll be just like camping!" Her eyes sparkled as she imagined them sleeping side by side under the stars.

"Not at all!" Eri replied brightly as she led the way to her bedroom. As they set up the air mattress and arranged the blankets, a warmth spread through her chest that had nothing to do with the temperature of the room. It was the feeling of having someone special sharing this moment with her, making it all the more magical.
Once everything was settled, she suggested they watch one of her favorite movies together before going to sleep.
(as Emmett remember when Eri looked at her lap and realized that she had thought about making love he shudder nervously) "brrr"
She glanced over at him as he shivered, concern etched on her features. "Are you cold?" she asked, wrapping an extra blanket around his shoulders. He smiled gratefully up at her and shook his head, but she could tell that there was something else on his mind. "Is everything okay? You seem a bit... nervous."
Her heart skipped a beat as she thought about the possibility of him feeling uncomfortable with them being so close. But then again, maybe it was just her imagination running wild.
Of course just a little cold that's all hehe. (he said nervous)
"Well," she said softly, her hand reaching out to rest on his shoulder, "if you need anything at all, you can always talk to me." Her gaze never left his face as she waited for him to respond. She couldn't help but feel a sense of protectiveness over him, like he was someone special to her... someone important.
It was then that Emmett found the courage to speak up about what had been on his mind all along: "Eri... there's something I need to tell you."
It's my first time being with someone as a friend and it makes me nervous I'm sorry about that. (he said blushing)
Her eyes widened in surprise as he confessed his nervousness to her. For a moment, she didn't know what to say. But then, a soft smile spread across her face, and she reached out to squeeze his shoulder gently. "It's okay," she assured him, her voice quiet but steady. "I understand how you feel."
She paused for a moment, searching for the right words before continuing, "And you know what? I think we're going to be really good friends. So...
(he looked at her as he wonder what else she was going to say)
I think so too. And I'm glad we get to spend the night together. We can watch movies, play games... maybe even tell each other secrets." She gave him a reassuring smile, hoping that he would feel more comfortable now that she had put his mind at ease. "So why don't we just enjoy our time together and see where it takes us?"
As they snuggled under the blankets and settled in to watch their movie, Eri couldn't help but feel a sense of peace wash over her.

Eri noticed Emmett's discomfort and quickly tried to find a way to make him feel more comfortable. She moved closer to him under the blankets and placed her hand on his shoulder reassuringly, telling him softly not to worry about it. As they continued watching the movie together, she found herself growing increasingly aware of Emmett's boner pressing against her leg. It felt both strange and arousing at the same time.
As the night went on, their closeness only seemed to grow stronger.

It's okay, Emmett," she replied softly, her voice barely audible above the sound of the movie. "I understand it can be embarrassing... but I promise you, we're just friends." She shifted slightly to give him more space, their legs brushing against each other now and then as they found comfortable positions under the blankets.
As the credits began to roll, she glanced at Emmett out of the corner of her eye, noticing how flushed he looked. "
Maybe we should get some sleep now... I can set up my air mattress in here if you want to stay with me tonight. It's going to be really cold outside, and I don't want you to be uncomfortable." Her voice was soft and reassuring, trying to ease any discomfort he might still be feeling about their situation.
As they prepared for bed, Emmett couldn't help but feel a little relieved that Eri had taken his embarrassment so well.

Good night, Emmett. Sweet dreams. She smiled warmly as she watched him settle into the air mattress beside her. Despite their initial awkwardness about his boner, they had managed to find a way to be comfortable with each other again. Maybe this friendship thing wasn't going to be so bad after all...
As the room grew darker and quieter, Eri drifted off to sleep, dreaming of magical adventures and newfound friendships.
