Parker sits on the Gustan palace roof to look at the stars.
"brother.. mother is losing her marbles I swear. She's saying we both have to make an appearance at tonight's ball." Avery said with a sigh from the window.
Don't worry. We can get through it together. Just try and enjoy yourself. Maybe we'll find someone to make the night better. He grinned at his brother before looking back up at the stars again, lost in thought.
"maybe.. just know father has been talking with his advisors about you needing to find a wife. I overheard him earlier in the study." Avery replied softly.
I'm not in a rush to get married. There's plenty of time for that. Besides, I don't need a woman to make me happy. I can be perfectly content on my own... looking at the stars and such. He smirked, not bothering to turn around and face his brother as he spoke.
"I know but you need to be married to take over the crown and if father is starting to want you to get married maybe there's something he's not sharing. Maybe he's sick or just wants to pass the crown early." Avery responded knowing soon the palace would be surrounded by carriages for tonight's ball.
Perhaps. But I'm not worried about it right now. There's plenty of time to think about that later. Right now, let's just focus on enjoying ourselves at the ball and finding some fun company for the night. He glanced at his brother out of the corner of his eye, a mischievous grin tugging at the corners of his lips.
"okay brotha. I'll go get ready." Avery replied while heading back inside.
*As Avery disappears back into the palace, Parker leans back against the wall and stretches out his arms, taking in the night sky. After a moment, he stands up and begins to pace idly back and forth across the roof, lost in thought about his brother's words. Finally, he shrugs it off and decides to focus on enjoying himself for the rest of the evening.
Parker got ready and met with Avery outside the ballroom doors so they could make their grand entrance. "How many beautiful woman you think will be in there?" Avery asked excitedly.
"Honestly? Too many to count. But I'm sure we'll find someone interesting to keep us entertained." He smirked and took a deep breath before walking through the doors, Avery following close behind.
but to Parker all the girls looked the same. All wore colorful gowns to try and stand out. Hair done up. Makeup done. All smiling at him knowing he would be the king one day.
It's true they all seemed similar in appearance, but there had to be someone unique amidst the crowd. Someone who wouldn't be afraid to stand out and challenge his expectations. That was what he was searching for as he scanned the ballroom, occasionally returning a smile or wink to keep potential suitors at bay while he continued his hunt.
