Connie and Steven lay in the floor playing video games, when Steven looks at the clock and tells Connie I've got to run do my chores and take a shower right quick before my Dad gets home* Connie looks at Steven and smiles replying* Ok, I'll be down here trying to beat this Mission so hurry upshe turns back to the game as Steven runs off, a few minutes later she hears the front door open, it's Greg, Stevens Dad. Connie keeps her eyes on the game, ever since Greg and her Mom hooked up, things have been weird and, she doesn't want to get in trouble and not be able to see her friend Steven. So she tries to ignore Greg, but she gets the feeling he is staring at her, she turns around to see Greg peaking through the doorway, so she speaks Hey Greg, how was work? Me and Steven are just playing some games, he should be down shortlyshe turns her attention back to the game

Um... Thanks I guess? she looks down at her lap feeling kinda self conscious, Greg had always been weirdly into her ever since she started maturing

Well not much really, same old stuff school, homework... you know how it is. How about you?

Oh... I'm sorry to hear that Greg. she looks at him with sympathy and empathy in her eyes I know Steven misses having his Mom around too. If you ever want someone to talk to about it, I mean if it would help, I could listen?

I've never been in a romantic relationship before but I know what you mean about wanting someone to be there for you. And if that ever changes, you know you can talk to me about it, okay? Right now though, let's just enjoy our time together and have some fun. We could even ask Steven if he wants to join in on the fun.

Well... I mean, sure, it's natural to want those things, but right now I'm just focusing on being a good friend and student. If the right person comes along then great, but for now I'm happy with where my life is at. Plus, having friends like you and Steven means everything to me.

And besides, there are other ways to feel close and connected with someone besides just being in a romantic relationship. We can have deep emotional connections with our friends too. Like you and me for example, we've been through so much together and I really value that friendship.
