Parker sits on the Gustan palace roof to look at the stars.
I gently tapped on the window before opening it. I brought a cup of his favorite warm tea to help against the chilly night. I've been his servant since I was gifted to his family. We are the same age. Because I was a servant he didn't pay much mind to me.
Hearing the window open, Parker turns his head and sees her. He smiles taking the tea. "Thank you, Analese." He says before taking a sip of the warm beverage. "What brings you up here?"
"I figured your highness would be on the roof and there was a cold breeze tonight so I made some tea for you prince.."
I answered as the wind played with my hair. I was the most polite only using his titles.
He smirks. "And what do you want in return?" He asks honestly, wanting to know her motives. She was always so quiet and reserved around him. It made him wonder what she thought of him.
"nothing.. I am to serve you." I softly answered with a polite little bow.
He laughs lightly. "You don't have to serve me just because I'm the prince. You could serve someone else if you wanted." She was so beautiful and he wondered what she thought of him. Did she hate him for being her master or did she actually like him? He was curious but didn't want to make things awkward between them.
"I am content with serving the crown prince.. it is my duty." I softly replied as the stars twinkled in my blue eyes.
He took another sip of his tea and looked at her. "You know, I've always wondered how you felt about me." He said honestly, not sure why he was admitting that now. She seemed so innocent and pure, unlike any other girl he had met before. Maybe it was because she was the only one who didn't try to get close to him for personal gain.
Her face flushed a soft pink as her eyes went wide in surprise at his honesty. "
"I.. I think you are magnificent. That Gusta is lucky to have such a prince in route to be king. You deserve everything in life." I answered honestly trying not to stutter.
He smiled at her words, happy that she thought so highly of him. "And what if I were to tell you that you deserve everything in life too?" He asked softly, wanting to see how she would react. She was always so quiet and reserved around him, it made him wonder what kind of reaction he'd get from her now.
"there are.. levels my prince... You see.. you are high up. You have a greater range of things you can have in life. I am at the bottom. There's only a small amount of things I can have." I explained softly just as I was taught by the other servants who raised me.
He looked at her for a moment before speaking again. "I don't see it that way. You are my equal in some ways and you deserve just as much happiness as I do." He hesitated for a moment, wondering how she would react to his next words. "What if... I were to give you anything you wanted? Anything at all?"
Her eyes widened even further at the question. No one had ever offered her such a thing before. She knew that he was just being kind but it still made her feel special and appreciated. "
