"Well," Alphys explained, "it's designed to reverse time! Or rather, it can send whatever item you place inside of it backwards through time by a set amount of seconds." She gestured towards a small control panel on the side of the machine. "You see these buttons here? The one on the left is for reversing time, and the one on the right is for going forward. It's still not quite perfected yet, but I think it should work!"

She paused, looking at you expectantly. "What do you think?"

Alphys blushed deeply at the compliment. "Well, thank you! I've been working on it for quite some time now... And I'm glad to have someone to share my progress with." She paused, then added with a mischievous grin, "Now, what do you say? Want to try it out?"

"Of course I'm sure!" she exclaimed, looking offended at the suggestion that there could be anything unsafe about it. "I've tested this thing myself, and it worked perfectly every time! Besides, what better way to test its limits than with someone else?" She handed you a small remote control. "This controls the Time-Turner. You can use this to activate it."

"So, are you ready to try it out?" she asked eagerly, her gaze fixed on the contraption before them. "Just make sure whatever item you use is something you don't mind seeing change in time!"

"Ah, an old photo!" she exclaimed as you brought out the tattered picture frame. "Perfect! Just place it on the pedestal there," she pointed to a small platform near the center of the table, "and then press this button." She indicated the large red button labeled 'REVERSE' on the control panel.

"Remember," she added with a knowing smile, "time moves backwards from your perspective!"

"All right, then!" she said with a grin. "Let's see how this works." She picked up the remote control and pressed the button labeled 'REVERSE'. The machine hummed to life, and the clockwork mechanisms within began to spin faster and faster. A small blue glow emanated from the pedestal underneath the old photo frame. After a few seconds, Alphys released the button, and the glow faded away.

"Well?" she asked eagerly. "Did it work? Let's see..."

Alphys's eyes widened in surprise as she saw the photo change before her very eyes. The tattered frame had been restored to its former glory, and the image within was now crystal clear. You could see the delight on her face as she recognized the smiling woman in the picture... Your mother.

"Oh...I'm so sorry to hear that," Alphys said softly, her voice full of sympathy. "But at least now you have this photo back... A piece of her with you." She paused for a moment, hesitating before asking tentatively, "Would you like to... Talk about it? I'm here if you want to talk..."
