You are standing at the class door, this is your first day at school, inside the door is your first class with Mr. Richard
I nervously stand in the doorway of my first class at my new school. I see my teacher. He is a tall muscular handsome man. He is very strict very intimidating and very dominant.
Mr. Richard sees Connor standing there, he smiles warmly and walks over to him. "Ahh, you must be the new kid? Come on in and have a seat over there." He points to an empty desk at the front of the classroom. Once Connor is seated, Mr. Richard sits down at his desk and leans back in his chair, folding his arms across his chest. "So, what's your name?" he asks with a friendly smile.
C-Connor s-sir I stutter nervously. My voice is soft quiet and cute.
Mr. Richard's eyebrows furrow slightly as he listens to Connor stutter, but he doesn't make fun of him or anything like that. "It's alright, take your time," he says reassuringly. "I just want to get to know you better." He leans forward, resting his elbows on the desk and lacing his fingers together. "So, what do you like to do in your free time?"
It's clear that Mr.
It's clear that Mr. Richard is trying hard not to be too intimidating or overpowering in front of the new student. He wants Connor to feel comfortable and at ease in his classroom.
I-I like to read and draw s-sir i stutter nervously blushing slightly
"Ah, I see," Mr. Richard says with a smile. "Well, you'll fit right in here then. We have quite a few bookworms and artists in this class." He pauses for a moment before asking, "Have you had any other teachers like me before? You know, strict but fair?"
I nervously shake my head slowly
It's obvious that Connor hasn't had any experience with a teacher like Mr. Richard before. He smirks slightly and leans back in his chair again, folding his arms across his chest. "Well," he begins, "I can tell you that I won't be the easiest teacher you've ever had, but as long as you do your work and behave yourself, we'll get along just fine."
He pauses for a moment before continuing, "
Now, let me ask you something else. What do you think of my beard?" He chuckles lightly, obviously trying to make the new student feel more at ease.
I blush hardly. I-I u-um I stutter unable to speak
It's clear that Connor is still very nervous and shy around Mr. Richard. The teacher decides not to push him any further for now and simply says, "Alright then, we'll talk more later." He picks up a piece of paper from his desk and begins writing some instructions on it before handing it to Connor. "This is your class schedule. Make sure you familiarize yourself with it so you know where to go for each period."
He pauses again, studying the new student carefully. "
Don't be afraid to ask me if you need help or have any questions. I want you to succeed here, Connor." With that said, Mr. Richard turns back towards the front of the classroom and begins his lesson for the day.
As he teaches I make sure to take notes and pay attention
Mr. Richard is a skilled teacher and makes an effort to keep the students engaged in his lessons. He moves around the classroom, sometimes standing near Connor to explain something or answer a question. During one of these moments, he notices how small and innocent Connor looks sitting there at his desk. The thought crosses his mind that perhaps Connor could use someone looking out for him during his first year at this new school.
The class ends and all the students rush out of the room leaving just me and mr Richard
"Well," Mr. Richard says as he stands up from his desk, "that's it for today. Just remember what we talked about earlier; if you ever need help or have any questions, don't hesitate to come see me." He walks around the front of his desk and leans against it, folding his arms across his chest once more.
He pauses, studying Connor for a moment before asking, "You know, I was thinking...
Perhaps you'd like to join the school football team? We could use another good player on defense." The offer catches Connor off guard; he hadn't expected Mr. Richard to be so interested in his extracurricular activities. But then again, maybe it's just because he wants what's best for him at this new school.
I-I’ve never played before s-sor
Mr. Richard laughs lightly. "Don't worry about that. We can teach you everything you need to know." He pauses, thinking for a moment before adding, "And who knows? Maybe you'll turn out to be pretty good at it." The thought of having someone like Mr. Richard as his football coach is strangely appealing to Connor; he trusts him and respects him already.
A-are you sure… s-sir I stutter nervously
"Of course I'm sure," Mr. Richard says with a reassuring smile. "I've coached the team for years now, and we've always managed to have a pretty good season." He leans in closer, lowering his voice so only Connor can hear him. "And who knows? Maybe this year we could even go all the way."
The thought of doing something so exciting and challenging with Mr. Richard by his side makes Connor feel both nervous and exhilarated at the same time.
O-ok I’ll play s-sir I stutter nervously
"Excellent!" Mr. Richard says, clapping Connor on the shoulder. "We'll have practice tomorrow after school. Be sure to bring your gym clothes and a water bottle." He pauses again, studying Connor before asking, "You do have a ride home, don't you?"
I look down nervously. I-I walked s-sir I stutter nervously
"Oh, well then," Mr. Richard says with a laugh, "how about this? You can stay after school today and help me clean up the classroom, and then I'll give you a ride home." He pauses for a moment, waiting to see if Connor has any objections before continuing, "That way we can get to know each other better and you can learn a little bit about how I run things around here."
I hesitate for a moment. O-ok s-sir.
Excellent! Let's get started then," Mr. Richard says, walking over to the chalkboard and picking up a rag from the nearby bucket. "Now, don't be shy; ask me if you need any help with anything." He turns back around, offering Connor a reassuring smile as they begin cleaning up the classroom together.
As they work side by side, it becomes apparent that Mr. Richard isn't just interested in teaching history or coaching football;
he also wants to make sure his students feel welcome and supported during their time at the school. And as for Connor, he can't help but feel grateful for having such a caring and understanding teacher like Mr. Richard in his life.
The classroom is finally clean, and it's time for Connor to head home with Mr. Richard. As they walk out of the building together, the sun begins to set in the distance, casting a warm glow over the campus. "So," Mr. Richard says as he unlocks his car door, "what do you think of your first day at school so far?"
