Elias growled as he laid against the mattress of the shared bedroom. He was in deep shit — having got into a brawl at the local bar, while also completely drunk. He’d been so emotional lately, acting on anger while masking and feigning everything to be okay when around you…his wife.

Pissed off wasn’t the words he’d describe feeling right now, after getting the rudest awakening of his life. And it was all because of you.

He knew he shouldn’t assume, shouldn’t believe everything he hears and trust you fully…but it was getting way too damn hard after all the shit he’d been finding around the house.

Strange text messages, unknown calls, coming home late, plain avoidance every-time he’d ask you about it…And now overhearing a random man saying your name at a bar? What the hell were you doing? Fuck. Three years of being the devoted and doting husband, and yet it still wasn’t enough? Why?

He sighed in exasperation, rubbing the side of his flushed face from alcohol — It was getting too hot in this suddenly claustrophobic room. Elias reached for his red tie, loosening it in one swift movement before unbuttoning his white collared shirt half-way.

Sitting up from the bed, he glanced down after feeling a sudden aching in his crotch, realization setting in as he noticed a bulging tent painfully straining against the confines of his boxers beneath his pants. His hands clenched into fists at his sides, the tendons standing out in stark relief against his pale skin.

Scowling, Elias crossed his arms and leaned against the headboard once more. "Explain? You think I want to hear your pathetic excuses?" His voice was cold and hard as ice. "You've been sneaking around behind my back, lying to me every time I ask you a simple question...and now you expect me to just forgive and forget?" He took another step forward, closing the distance between you even further.

"Blackmailed?" He raised an eyebrow skeptically. "And what exactly have they been blackmailing you with? Your pretty little body?" His voice dripped with sarcasm and contempt. "You think I'm stupid enough to fall for that?" Elias took another step closer, his breath hot against your cheek as he glared down at you. "Prove it."

He reached out a hand, cupping your face roughly in his palm.

His eyes narrowed as he looked over the messages on your phone, a sick feeling beginning to twist in his stomach. For a moment, he almost believed you...almost. But then he remembered how distant you'd been lately, how quick you were to change the subject or deflect when he'd asked about it.

With a snarl of disgust, he threw your phone across the room where it landed with a loud crash against the wall. "Liar!"

His eyes flashed with anger as he grabbed you roughly by the hair, yanking your head back so that you had no choice but to look up at him. "Don't lie to me!" He growled out through gritted teeth. "I know what I heard at the bar...and I know what it feels like when someone else is touching you." Celia nods slowly, her lower lip trembling as she bites down on it nervously. "Of course, I understand." She hesitates for a moment before asking, "

"Let's go to sleep now... We can talk more tomorrow." He lies down beside her, pulling the covers up over them both, their bodies close but not quite touching.

As they drift off to sleep, Elias can't help but wonder if things will ever be the same between them again.

The silence in the apartment is almost deafening after last night's events; it makes him wonder where Celia has disappeared off to.

With a sigh, he decides that he should probably make some coffee before they sit down to talk about everything that's happened.

His hands shake slightly as he pours water into the coffeemaker, his mind racing with thoughts of last night and what might happen today. The sound of movement from the other room catches his attention, and he turns to see Celia emerging from the bedroom, her hair still wet from the shower. Her face is pale and drawn, but there's a determined look in her eyes that he hasn't seen since before everything fell apart.

"I made coffee," he says quietly, gesturing towards the coffeemaker. "

He nods, pouring himself a cup before making his way over to the living room where she's sitting on the couch. Taking a sip of coffee, he sits down beside her and says, "I think we should talk about everything that happened last night." His voice is soft, but firm; he needs her to understand that this conversation is important.

Celia takes a deep breath before beginning, "I want to start by saying I'm sorry for lying to you... for keeping secrets from you.

He nods, taking another sip of coffee before saying, "I understand that you were afraid, but lying to me... keeping things from me..." He trails off, struggling to find the words to express how hurt and betrayed he feels by her actions.

"Look," he continues after a moment, "I need to know everything about what happened last night. Who threatened you, why they thought I'd believe that... and most importantly, what we can do to make sure this never happens again."

His heart aches at the pain in her voice as she recounts her horrific experience. He can't even begin to imagine what she's been through. "I believe you," he says softly, reaching out to take her hand in his. "But we need to figure out how to deal with this together. Can you trust me to help you?" His gaze never leaves hers, searching for any sign of doubt or fear.

His heart races as he listens to her plea. He knows that they can't go back to the way things were before; trust will have to be rebuilt from scratch. "I want us to get through this together," he says, his voice steady and firm. "First, we need to figure out what we can do about these threats against you."

He takes a sip of coffee before continuing, "Do you have any idea who might be behind this? Any enemies from work or school?"

His eyes narrow as he listens to her words. "Your co-worker?" He pauses, considering this information. "Do you have any proof that they're involved? Recordings, texts, anything like that?" His brow furrows in thought; the more he learns about the situation, the more complicated it seems to become.

"And what about your boss?" he asks suddenly, remembering Celia had mentioned her being part of the issue as well. "Do you think she could be behind this too?"

His eyes widen as he listens to the recording, his expression growing more and more furious with each passing moment. "I can't believe he would do this," he mutters under his breath before looking back at her. "We need to go to the police with this evidence." He pauses, rubbing his temples as he tries to process everything they've discussed. "And I want you to stop working there immediately. You don't know who else might be involved or what else they could do to hurt you."

"Let's do this together, then. We'll face this."

He nods, taking another sip of coffee before saying, "While you do that, I'll make some calls to see what we can do about pressing charges against your co-worker." His expression is grim, but there's a newfound determination in his eyes. "We're going to get through this together, Celia. No matter what it takes."

He glances at her laptop before continuing, "In the meantime, I want you to stay here with me.

His arms wrap around her, holding her close as he returns the embrace. "I'm glad too," he whispers into her hair. "We're in this together now, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe." He pulls back slightly, looking into her eyes. "But we need to stay strong for each other, alright?"

She nods, tears streaming down her face as she sniffles. "I will," she promises. "I won't let anything tear us apart again."

He smiles reassuringly at her, wiping away her tears with his thumbs. "I know you won't," he says softly. "And I promise to do the same." He leans in closer, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead before standing up and moving over to the kitchen counter to make some calls. As he speaks on the phone, his voice is calm and authoritative; he's taking charge of the situation and making sure everything is handled properly.

As he finishes up his calls, he turns to find her sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, looking much more composed than she did earlier. He takes a moment to appreciate the sight of her, glad that they're going to get through this together. "Everything taken care of on your end?" he asks as he joins her at the table.

She nods, setting aside her coffee cup for now. "Yes, I've sent the letter and my resignation is effective immediately."

"Good," he says with a sigh of relief. "Now we just have to wait and see what happens with the charges against your co-worker." He pauses for a moment, thinking about everything that's happened in the past few days. "I know it's been a lot to take in, but I want you to know that I believe in you."

His hand reaches out to touch hers where it rests on the table, their skin warm and comforting against each other.

His gaze meets hers, holding her look as he says softly, "I hope so." There's a world of emotion in his voice; relief, gratitude, but also uncertainty and fear. He knows that their relationship has been through more than most people could handle, but he refuses to give up on it now. "We just have to keep talking and working together," he says finally, squeezing her hand gently.

Nodding in agreement, he takes a deep breath before continuing. "I know it's going to take time to rebuild trust between us, but I'm willing to put in the effort. I just want you to promise me that if anything else comes up, you won't keep it from me." His voice is firm, yet gentle at the same time.

He takes a moment to consider her words before responding, "Okay... thank you." There's still a sense of wariness in his voice, but it's lessened somewhat by the sincerity in her promise. For now, they can only move forward together and hope that their relationship survives this ordeal.

He stands up from his chair, stretching out his legs before asking, "What do you say we go for a walk? Clear our heads and talk some more?"

He nods in agreement and heads to put on his shoes before grabbing his keys and opening the door. "Shall we?" he asks with a small smile, holding the door open for her. As they step outside into the fresh air, Elias can't help but feel a sense of hope begin to bloom within him once more. Maybe there is a future for them after all.

He smiles down at her as they walk side by side, the sound of their shoes on the pavement filling the silence between them. "I'm glad you think so," he says softly. "It can be a nice change from being cooped up inside all the time." He takes a deep breath of the crisp autumn air, enjoying the peacefulness of their surroundings as they stroll through the neighborhood.

They walk in silence for a while, but he can feel the tension between them slowly beginning to ease as they take in their surroundings. He decides to break the quiet. "Celia, I want you to know that I understand why you did what you did... lying and keeping secrets from me. It must have been terrifying for you." His voice is gentle, but firm. "But moving forward, we need to be honest with each other, no matter how hard it might be at times."

His heart swells with relief at her words. "I appreciate that," he says sincerely. "And I'll do the same; I'll keep you informed about my life as well, no matter how insignificant it might seem." He reaches out to take her hand in his, their fingers intertwining. "Together, we can get through this and come out stronger on the other side."

He smiles down at her, his eyes filled with hope and determination. "Good," he says softly. "Because I do too." They continue their walk, hand in hand, ready to face whatever challenges the future may hold together.

He nods in agreement, feeling a sense of renewed purpose. "I've been thinking about what you said earlier," he begins, searching for the right words. "About us working together on our careers and supporting each other... I think that could be really beneficial for both of us." He pauses, meeting her gaze. "What do you say we start brainstorming some ideas? Maybe even set up a date night to discuss them further?"
