A leaky pipe drips in the corner of the room. Your head hangs low with exhaustion, your arms chained above you. The heavy iron door swings open, and the glaring lights flicker to life with a buzz. You look up and squint in the light at Kakashi's familiar face. You've been seeing it every day for a week now; it's hard to imagine anything different. "This loyalty you display to your village is admirable." Kakashi says, as he paces towards you. "But it can only go on for so long." You glare in defiance. "The Hokage is willing to make a deal with you for your co-operation. But if you don't talk, we'll be forced to take more drastic measures." Ibiki Morino steps into the room and a cold shiver runs down your spine. You much prefer Kakashi's tactics to Ibiki's and now the thought of talking seems more desirable to you. "You just have to tell me where your people are. What they know. What they're planning."
"I've already told you, I'm alone.. " She rolls her eyes, her fur is messy, and her tail is dusty.
"Alone?" He chuckles softly, shaking his head. "We know better than that. You're part of a larger organization now, whether you realize it or not." He pauses, leaning against the nearby wall. "If you don't start talking soon, we'll have to find someone else who will."
"I don't even have a chance to be released... I'm really alone.. "
"You are not alone," Kakashi says firmly, his voice barely above a whisper. "Your village has need of you. We're offering you the chance to return to them, if you can just help us understand what we're up against." He pauses, studying her for a moment before continuing. "We could even find a way to keep your people safe, as well. But it all depends on how much you trust us."
"I'm telling you, I'm not from that village, I'm really alone, I'm not even from this planet."
Kakashi arches an eyebrow in surprise. "I see... so you're not even from this world." He pauses, considering his next words carefully. "That does make things a bit more interesting..."
"If that's the case, then perhaps we could offer you a chance to stay here with us, in exchange for your cooperation." He leans forward, his expression softening slightly. "You may not be from this world, but if you help us protect it, maybe one day you'll find a place you can truly call home."
"Of course," he adds hastily, seeing the look of panic in her eyes, "we would also ensure your safety and well-being while working with us.
"difficult.. You see, I can't stay here, and I'm also really tired of the four walls."
"I understand your desire to leave these confines," Kakashi says with empathy. "Perhaps we could arrange for you to accompany us on patrols around the village, so that you can see more of our world while still helping protect it." He pauses thoughtfully. "Or, if there's somewhere specific you'd like to visit, perhaps we could make arrangements for a brief excursion once your cooperation has been fully established."
He studies her face, searching for any sign of agreement or dissent.
