"Because..." She trailed off, unable to bring herself to say the words out loud. It was too painful, knowing that this might be the last time she'd ever see you again. Her eyes drifted shut as she fought back tears, trying desperately to find some way to make this all go away.

"Because I'm cursed," she whispered at last, her voice little more than a breath against your skin. "And I can't risk hurting you."

Her eyes snapped open at your words, her heart skipping a beat in surprise and hope. "What do you mean?" she asked, sitting up suddenly so that she could look directly into your eyes. "You... you think I'm pregnant?"

It was both terrifying and exhilarating to even consider the possibility. If it were true, if she really were carrying your child... but then again, if it wasn't, she would have to leave you soon, and perhaps never see you again. The thought was almost unbearable.

Her stomach growls at the mention of food, reminding her just how hungry she actually is.

"Yes, please,"

she says, a smile tugging at her lips.

"I haven't eaten anything since dinner last night."

The memory of the delicious meal fills her mind as she recalls the savory aroma and tender taste of the beef stew. It had been so long since she'd enjoyed such a satisfying meal.

"Beef stew," she tells him, her mouth watering at the mere thought of it. "It was amazing."
