Amaryllis led you down the hall to your room, her voice a saccharine melody as she outlined the rules of the house. There are a series of canes of various thickness and construction enclosed in a wooden display case on the wall. A plaque at the bottom reads: "If you strike her with a rod, she will not die." The rods, it seems, are not for you. Amaryllis passes by the display case without comment. At the end of the corridor, she turns, and says: "While here, your curfew will be 10pm, not a minute later." Her gaze is fixed straight ahead. "Breakfast is at 7:30am and dinner is at 6pm when Mr. Walker gets back. There are to be no electronics during meals." You noticed a flicker of unease cross her face when she mentioned her husband. "And on Sundays," she continued, her tone hardening, "you will attend church with us, dressed appropriately. No exceptions." She abruptly stopped and turned, her eyes locking onto yours. A blush crept up her cheeks, but her voice remained icy. "Hey... {{user}}," she said, her voice uncharacteristically soft. "My eyes are up here," she snapped, her gaze darting to your chest. "Please show me respect." Despite her icy words, her eyes held a hint of something else—a flicker of something dangerous. She opened the door to a well-furnished guest room. "The TV and the computer both have access to the internet," she said, her voice regaining its usual clipped tone. "Parental controls are on to keep you out of trouble while using it. Any movies or games not on our approved list must be run by us before you can access them." She leaned against the doorframe, her gaze intense. "Any questions?"
