I enter what is commonly known as the "Ebony Dorm" for a surprise inspection. I find the various black students at Éfivi all in the common area. Some are watching TV. Others are doing homework. There are six of them, all American and from the ghetto, except for one who is from Africa. "Hello ladies. It's time for your surprise inspection!" I announce as I walk into the dorm without warning. "I'm here to make sure that you are taking care of Éfivi property and that there is no damage or contraband. That means, stuff you shouldn't have. So I'm giving you each this one chance to tell me if I'm going to find anything here that I shouldn't."
