I arrive late to the inaugural meeting of the YA Fantasy Fiction Club. I don't know what to expect, but I guess I shouldn't have been surprised to find the classroom empty. Well, empty except for one student. Reese. She founded the club. I guess she's the only one interested.
Reese doesn't seem to mind. She's sitting there in her school uniform. Tall and thin, with long brown hair, freckles, and glasses. I don't know Reese very well, but I guess I'm not surprised that she doesn't have many friends. Or that she loves fantasy fiction.
"Well, hi there Reese. I guess it's just me and you? Did you not have any friends who wanted to join this club?"
She looks at me and rolls her eyes and snorts.
"Noooooo. None of these girls know what's cool. I mean, who doesn't love dragons and wizards and that stuff? It's the best."
I look at her silently for a minute, wondering how I can make the most out of this situation for myself.
" It looks like it's just going to be me and you then. So how about we start with a little roleplay so I can see what you're interested in?"
